Went to dinner here just a couple of hours ago. I have been going to this restaurant long enough to see prices continually rise. Food and service are always good; however, I believe the cost of eating here versus what you get is diminishing. Tonight I was shocked when the waitress told me that I would be charged $1.25 each for salsa and 1 basket of chips. I have been around long enough to feel that this is equivalent to paying for catsup, pickles, and lettuce on your burger. When I asked the manager about it, he told me everyone was doing it. So this makes it OK? I do not know about you, but I am struggling with the cost of life just as much as everyone else. Maybe it is just time for me to stop eating out if things like this are ruining my dinner. On top of this, I was charged two dollars extra on my house margarita because I asked for a couple of jalapeno slices dropped into my drink. I was told this was going to happen, so in the end its my fault. I went to the taco Tuesday buffet, and there was no cheese any where. The only reason I went there is because the price was below $18 dollars. You might think that I am just getting old, but in 2018 I paid $8 dollars for Taco Truck burrito which is $14 dollars today. That was only 5 years ago. As a teacher, my wages certainly have not gone up 50% since then. It is my opinion that Enrique's has raised their cost appropriately to make sure their patron can walk in and get at least one basket of chips and salsa per table. Because I have been going here so long this stings. I remember a local family running this place. I truly believe that family would have been leaders not followers. Now I am not sure what to think. Oh well, everyone is doing it.
Update 5/31/23 I did some checking today and this is what I found. All prices were determined by online menus. Called each restaurant to verify if chips and salsa are included when dining inside.
Menu item that I priced was a 3 item combo: Enchilada, Taco, Tamale with beans and rice included.
Except for Enrique's, I picked the restaurants below by rating and reviews randomly.

Read moreFirst upon arriving there was plenty of parking. They have a beautiful patio outside and a very nice Exterior design that is welcoming. When entering the restaurant you are brought to a really nice trendy type restaurant in Mexico! The lights are Dim however it adds to the ambience of this restaurant. When you enter there are people ready to Make you happy! The décor is beautiful! There are photos On the wall and as you walk in you can see their beautiful bar with beautiful bar stools that are really gorgeous. It looks cozy and inviting and it is also quite a romantic place if that's the type of Outing that you're looking for here in Kuna, Idaho. We went on taco Tuesday where you can order all you can eat tacos! It was delicious! I ordered three different tacos at the buffet... Chicken, carne asada & CARNITAS. You can also have refried beans, rice... And these delicious things that are like cheese quesadillas but different. I recommend the cheese one's highly! When I sat down To eat., The 1st one I ate was delicious and i have never had 1 that good. I thought with the seasonings it was chicken but when I got to the chicken taco I realized it was the carnitas! That means pork. It was absolutely tasty and unexpected. In fact the chicken had no flavor compared to that wonderful meat We ordered drinks. I had a bloody mary and my companions had margaritas. The drinks are huge and tasty! Yes they're a little pricey as is the food, However it was worth every penny! The service was outstanding. I cannot compliment everyone who works there enough. I was treated like royalty as were my in laws.... And we've really enjoyed our night out together at this restaurant. Then there's the music! It was nice to finally go to a real mexican restaurant with nice top forty type mexican music! I really do not like the oompa bands that they have very much Because in los angeles they play it way too much but it was nice. All in all I give it 5 stars. The food the service the ambience were all wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you don't think you like mexican food. The menu is extensive and they have Many choices to pick from including 10 plus different kinds of meat!It was an experience I will not...
Read moreMy friend and I went to the Cinco de Mayo buffet special event that was held on Sunday, May 4, 2025. I was very disappointed in the food. I had heard that Enrique's was good so I had high expectations. I had never been to Enrique's before so I don't have a regular dining experience with which to compare the buffet food.
We were told that the dishes available would be different at different times of the day (between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.). We were there around 3:00 p.m.
Almost everything was meat. There was green salad, rice and beans. One or two dishes had peppers or mushrooms. Several dishes had jalapeno peppers which I cannot eat.
I tried maybe eight different dishes. None of them were good. My friend also tried several dishes and was not impressed.
The food was only warm. I think it is difficult to have hot food on a buffet.
I would be willing to go to Enrique's again and order off the menu to see if my experience is better than my experience with the buffet. I have heard their food is good so I think maybe this experience was just an anomaly.
They did have a mariachi band playing. When they were near our table it was very loud because of the horns. We couldn't talk to each other. However when the band moved to the opposite end of the room, it was perfect. The band was very good and I appreciate that Enrique's included the band for Cinco de Mayo.
The wait staff were incredible. They were all friendly and checked on us many times.
I rarely drink but I opted to have a margarita. They have a lot of options to choose from for margaritas. I just had a regular margarita. It came in a huge glass with a price that matched ($10). And I felt like the price was fair given the size of the glass. The margarita was good.
The restaurant is large and is nicely furnished. It is a nice place for larger groups.
So for me the bottom line is I think I need to try Enrique's again so that I can evaluate the food off the menu. I think my experience would be better than it was with the buffet. I have to drive quite a distance to get to Enrique's so it will probably be a while before I go...
