I am utterly disappointed in this establishment. Two months ago, my friends and I decided to celebrate a birthday here. From the very beginning, we experienced extremely poor customer service. We were seated 25 minutes after our reservation. When we tasted our soup, it was definitely not warm. However, we decided to be understanding and wait for our chef to come cook our food. Although we were beginning to get frustrated, we decided to be patient and wait 45 minutes until our chefs arrival. As our chef began to cook our meal, the eggs and fried rice began to burn which left a lot of char marks on our rice. When the chef asked how it tasted, a friend of mine and the party next to us made a complaint. Without any apologies, he moved onto cooking our filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp. We had told the waiter and chef that we would like our filet mignon to be cooked medium well and medium. Yet, the chef cooked it extremely well done. At this point, I decided to kindly notify the chef that he had cooked our meats incorrectly. He asked if we would like for him to recook the meat; however, we had already waited an hour and a half for our meal and had bar reservations afterwards. We were not going to cancel our plans, because our chef was ignorant and continuously cooked a tasteless and burnt meal. At this point, we decide to tell the waitress and manager how disappointed we were in our meal, seeing that we come to this establishment for special occasions. The manager tried to gaslight us into thinking that our meal was not burnt when we were all showing her how the meal was presented in front of us. In the midst of the manager being in denial and poorly managing a situation, a racist customer on our table began to yell at us for "being poor" and "if we made more money, then we wouldn't complain about our meal and just pay for it." While my friends and I were getting verbally harassed, the management stood there like a bunch of lost puppies and watched us be treated poorly under their roof. Their main concern was for me to sign off on my credit card so they can charge me for my burnt meal. The management followed me to the front of the restaurant for me to sign my check as the customer was still verbally harassing my party. Shame on you Sakura for not knowing how to provide decent customer service and mitigate a conflict happening in your establishment. After many years of loyalty, I will take my hard earned money to other Teppan girls that don't burn their food, and treat their customers nicely. This experience left my loved ones and I disturbed, hurt, and offended. After almost two months, I can finally write this review without entirely...
Read moreI went there for a special occasion with 5 of my friends, I have visited before and have had good experiences but this time they were completely incompetent. We arrived and waited roughly 30 minutes to get water and another 20 minutes to place our order. The chef's performance was subpar with any hibachi place tricks are not essential but are welcomed and we got incessant banging of a fork on a table and some engrossing and nothing more. The food was prepared okay, but the bean sprouts spoiled the dish as they were tasteless and bland and still had the aroma of grass. Service was no better they almost refused to approach our table did not refill waters more than once and we did not get a refill until we paid our bill. As our birthday dinner was coming to an end their traditional gong was not brought out as well as when the $305 bill arrived we provided more than enough of a tip and whilst we ate the server took the money. Then the server proceeded to return and badger us stating that "this was not enough money for the tip for her cook" She proceeded to stare us down and repeatedly come over and say the same thing. She made the entire staff and security stare at us as if we had just stolen from them and made our dining experience extremely uncomfortable. As we left we added 15 dollars to our already 30-dollar tip and essentially we had to leave the restaurant in a hurry as the waitress was attempting to tell us that this was still not enough. I have in my life never had a waitress or anyone say that this was not enough of a tip and I am unwilling to return to this establishment and I will be taking my...
Read moreMy Abuelita decided to take my son and I out to dinner to celebrate his birthday, and the choice was easy. Sakura. This Teppanyaki-sushi place is great for the whole family, but it is still a great option for date night, too. The menu is simple on the teppanyaki side but it has options for all palates (less, usually translates to fresher). The cusine is a spectacle, all the chefs that work there have awesome knife skills as well as great showmanship. They prepare your meal in front of you on the traditional japanese flat-top griddle while entertaining you with a free-style cooking show. The food has always tasted fresh and the restaurant is always well kept. Alsobthe sushi side is cool, but you can order that from the teppanyaki side as well. I usually get the steak and lobster combo and share a Fire Ring Roll smothered in fried onions with the family (try that roll, it looks and tastes awesome!) We went there on a Sunday evening and it was busseling! There must have been a line of 20 people outside the door and just as many in the waiting room, I must say we all got seated i. Less than 20min. ( we called around opening...
