UPDATE: 8/2024. Called to talk to a manager about the music because friends wanted to go to COA again. I explained to the person who answered the phone why I was calling. The manager was standing right there while the employee relayed why I was calling in Spanish. Too busy to talk, but leave name and number. So far no call back.
I realize most people will go to COA and tolerate the loud music. My friends will. They likely won't miss my money which is fine with me. But people who do care need to know they won't do anything about it or even talk about it. UPDATE: 7/2024. Couldn't say no to dinner. OMG! Turn down the music!. If you won't do it for your customers then do it for your employees. They are all going to have hearing problems when they get older from working at COA. I don't know what sounds you are trying to cover up in the kitchen, but they must be bad.
April 2024.
Unless I am eating with a friend, I always get my orders to go so I haven't eaten at their new location until today. As always, the food and service were excellent, but it was LOUD inside!!!
There was a large table with 3 or families and kids talking loudly and watching an IPad. LOUD. Then the place filled up because of Taco Tuesday. LOUD. The music (which no one else could hear because the conversations and table noise was so loud) was also loud with a very heavy base.
Realizing nothing can or should be done to ask customers to "quiet down" I asked if the music could be turned off. We were sitting right under one of the speakers. I asked two different people three different times. Either they couldn't or wouldn't turn it down.
If I hadn't been with my 90 year-old friend, I would have gotten up and walked out. She couldn't hear anything but the base and she is too polite to say anything.
I will be getting orders to go from now on and if my friend suggests COA for lunch,...
Read moreWe were in La Conner for a long weekend and checked out COA for some Mexican food and tequila. The atmosphere is great and the vibe really adds to the delicious food and drinks. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful about the area, the food and drinks were good enough that we came back a second time over the weekend just to have some more!
Outdoor patio is AWESOME lots of tables with 🔥
We had: Molcajete- which I highly recommend especially for a couple to share, the meat was delicious and juicy and the variety and quantity is plenty for two people, was also served with rice, beans and veggies.
Ceviche - definitely grab some of this, a perfect appetizer and or snack to go with the variety of drinks.
Chile relleno- great flavor, breading was light. I really enjoy the way they serve up beans and rice, beans are especially tasty, don’t get me wrong I have no issue with refried beans but the whole beans are especially good.
Enchiladas- the ability to mix and match meats was cool and allowed for some variety without having to order multiple dishes, the green sauce on them was especially delicious.
Drinks- we had a BUNCH! I love tequila bars and when combined with a great taqueria you know it’s on! Jalapeño margarita was large and tasty, Paloma was a hit, strawberry margarita and Michelada all hit the spot. Almost all drinks had a Chile/tajin rim which I definitely prefer over salt, and the tequila options are plentiful especially with regards to Anejo and reposado!
I will definitely be going back anytime I’m staying up north, plus this place was walking distance to downtown and our hotel so no worries enjoying the tequila options!
Thank you to...
Read moreCOA is a must-visit Mexican cuisine destination in this area. The parking is limited so plan accordingly. The interior is very modern and elegant, with great art and decorations in every sight line. The chairs are comfortable and the space is an open concept with outdoor seating available. All the encounters we had with the staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. The prices of the food and drinks are on the higher side, but we felt it was totally worth it. The blue margarita was spectacular and we quite enjoyed the tequila. Usually when we get margaritas we can tell if the alcohol is cheap. This was top shelf stuff. The corn chips / salsa were so satisfying. The chips had a big crunch but were so light, and it complimented the salsa very well. Great ratios of ingredients and it tasted light and refreshing. My enchiladas were delicious, usually I don't like the green sauce but this one impressed me. My wife's chimichanga was the best she'd ever had. Same goes with the mole sauce, I've never had a better one anywhere else. Everyone else loved their food and my uncle even had a custom order that wasn't on the menu and they accommodated him entirely. The sopapillas were also the best ever, and the churros were just good (big dessert portions, make sure to split it). Overall, an incredible experience and we will be...
