Ruby Redâs is a place that strives to make premium smoked BBQ. đ„
As I walked up to the restaurant, I noticed the decor right away. Itâs really beautiful. They definitely put a lot of thought into the decor. Their western touch shines throughout the restaurant, from the inside to the outdoor patio. The giant chandelier is a nice touch. Friendly service.

Ruby Redâs BBQ is in a busy shopping center, next to Ross. Parking could be a challenge when itâs busy.
It can get a little pricey but itâs quality food. There are no meal deals here so everything is ordered separately, except for the kidâs meals.
Very tasty barbeque, good sized portions and a nice selection of sides and cookies. The sliders are small but good if youâre wanting to try the trio of the Sweet Pig, Texan and Chicken Salad sandwiches.
Otherwise, their signature sandwiches are a pretty good size, with a good amount of meat in it. They look pretty impressive when they bring it to your table. The bun holds up to the meat. If youâre a pickle lover like me, ask for extra pickles on the side.
đ„Sweet Pig - happily surprised that it had big chunks of pulled pork and coleslaw. đ„Texan - brisket was smoky but a tad dry. But, it was very tasty. It had raw onions. I think it would have been better grilled instead. đ„BarbeCuban - has brisket, queso and cowboy candy. It has a little kick but not too spicy. đ„Chicken Salad - you can taste the smoky flavors đ„Ruby Sausage Link - itâs like an Italian sausage (it was okay) đ„Cornbread- in a muffin form. Really good. My friend called it crack lol You canât stop eating it. đ„Waffle fries
They have 3 sauces: Carolina (tangy), Red (smoky) and Ruby Red (slightly smoky with a little kick. The Red was my favorite.
Looking forward to tasting the pork ribs next time.
Overall, we all had a great time here. Iâll definitely come back to try more of their BBQ, sides and cookies.
Update: St Louis Pork Ribs and Southern Cream Corn đœđđ„
So tender and juicy. The creamed corn is delicious...
Read moreI passed by many times without knowing about the Ruby Red Bar b que. It didn't look like anyone did business there (;from the outside anyway) The way the restaurant is laid out it's appearance from passersby is somewhat obscured so I thought hmm before they close from lack of business I'll come in check it out. I was surprised. There were people in there so I ordered and was I in shock by the amount of business it had and the prices.Have an updated menu which is a plain white flyer with no restaurant name or logo.$ Saved on the advertising costs , don't need it. Good for them ! I'll include it in image below. Its an excellent location with no competition around for miles, they know they make great food but you'll pay premium for it. This small restaurant is Texan barb b que, some thought was put into the cowboy ranchouse motif. I ordered take out. The sauce flavors I had on the side were not bad and not exceptional were basic peppered, spicy and sweet or smokey.(although they didn't charge for them which was a +. I ordered the st louis pork ribs which were very tender and tasteful, prepared well with fall off the bone smokey flavor, chili bowl was tasty and Cole slaw was freshly made. Friendly staff , she said they were all out of chicken.
In all fairness, they probably raised the prices to limit the huge crowds that would come if it was made to be more affordable, which would likely be impossible to staff. So ... it's a win for small business (if it actually is one)
You may like it enough to pay 19.95 for small and 37.95 for large Beef ribs. Keep in mind, that's all you get. Anything else that you order up adds 4.95 each individual serving. Add a fresh baked cookie for a couple bucks and your Drinks? Well, if your budget can feed two for over a hundred bucks, go have a great meal! I will go back, if someone else...
Read moreMy quick review - a really unique restaurant with very little that is like it in the area!
Coming into Ruby Red's BBQ, the more modern restaurant is on the left side and to the right, is what looks like a neat old-school saloon full of modern touches! There's an old school Western bar area as well as booths that have LED windows on them that almost seems like you're on a train ride. It's very Disney-esque!
I got to chat with the owner Steve a bit, and he informed me that he and his team handmade a lot of the wooden sections himself which is super cool and impressive. I also was informed about how much he and his team gives back to the community - where he helps inform people that come into the restaurant as well as a lot of the funds of the restaurant goes to helping those in need in the community and creating community events to galvanize people. Really appreciated the backstory and the charitable spirit of the restaurant!
Onto the food! There's a lot of different BBQ and sandwich dishes! Some of my favorites that I tried included: *The deep fried pickles and cauliflower: Always a fan and no different here. Love the ranch sauce they use and not too overly battered. *The chips and dip: The chips were so light and easy to eat with a tasty bean/tomato dip. *Pulled pork: I had the brisket which was good, but I think the pulled pork was actually one of the best things I had here! Not overly salty; tender; and just cooked right. Loved pairing it with their spicier sauce. *Cheesecake: I tried their dessert which was more akin to a Japanese-style cheesecake. Less sweet and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Pretty good!
Pricing wasn't super expensive and the staff was so attentive/helpful the entire night. Really went above and beyond and felt like part of a family.
Good stuff all-around - hope to be back soon...
