Our company ordered lunch through the online portal because we are celebrating an employee birthday. When the order was delivered, there was a missing salad dressing, as well as two of the special sauces that we had requested/selected when placing the order. We called to see what could be done, and the employee told us that "Technically you didn't pay for the sauces since they are free" as a solution to our problem, and going on to say "there is nothing we can do". So essentially his logic is if a customer places an order for something, the employees can arbitrarily pick and choose what they do or do not include in the order, even if the customer ordered it, and the customer must just accept it.
They told us that we could drive down there myself to pick up the missing items, which makes 0 sense. We got the order delivered for a reason (and paid extra for that), and now we have to take time out of our lunch/work day to drive down there to fix their mistakes?
They didn't offer us credit, they didn't offer to send another driver, they offered literally 0 solutions to make the situation right. It took us asking to escalate the call to two separate people before they even offered to possibly partly comp only the salad.
Honestly, I understand that mistakes are made but when we come to you for help and you immediately meet me with a "that's too bad" and literally NO solution/offering/way to make the situation right? I believe that is unacceptable.
If you have to almost beg for an establishment to make their own mistakes right, you know there is...
Read moreI’ve been passing by Board & Brew in La Habra for years, always meaning to stop in—then forgetting it exists by the next red light. This time, thanks to an Instagram post, I finally made it in. And yeah, I’m glad I did. I went with the Chicken Club and a side of their house potato salad. Sandwich ran me $11.95 and it’s a solid deal. Big, hearty, fully loaded, big pieces of grilled chicken, bacon, fresh produce, all packed into toasted bread that didn’t fall apart halfway through. They offered their secret sauce on the side (free), and I gave it a go. It’s more sweet and tangy than salty—interesting but not essential. The potato salad? Flavor’s fine, but it was colder than necessary. Like, “is this thing still defrosting?” kind of cold. I ended up letting it sit for a bit before really digging in. Not a dealbreaker, just maybe chill your beer, not your side dish, you know? And speaking of beer, yes, they’ve got a full draft beer counter with a bunch of taps. Great if you’re coming to hang out or just want something to go with your sandwich. I also noticed they’ve got some legit-looking salads, too. Not just lettuce and regret—actual good, full-meal salads that I’ll probably come back to try. The vibe was great for a Sunday afternoon: live music outside, mellow crowd, and free, easy parking. Under $18 for a good meal with solid portions, solid flavor, and good energy all around. Definitely worth the stop. I’m glad I finally made it in, and with so much on the menu I still want to try, I’m already...
Read moreI wanted to like this sandwich shop, but I must admit I was disappointed, especially given the price. I ordered the Italian Sub and a regular fountain drink. Total price: $15.64.
For that price point I expected a great sandwich. However, what I got was "just okay." It wasn't anything particularly special and a bit on the bland side. Also, they put way too many red onion slices. Had to take most of them off and was left with a small pile of them (note: I do like red onion, this was just way too much).
The bread of the sandwich was good though.
I tried a side of their Secret Sauce. Their sauce tastes like some type of vinaigrette with an added something I can't place. It is incredibly tangy and was too much tang to go with my sandwich which already had a dressing in it. Perhaps the sauce goes well with other options or good to dip chips into.
The vibe of the place is nice though. Inside there are booths and tables and a bar area opposite the fountain drinks. Outside is a small patio with more tables.
All in all, my experience was underwhelming. Like I stated, I wanted to like this place, but my sandwich was too "meh" and too expensive for a...
