China Super Buffet — Restaurant in La Mesa

been coming here maybe 3 times a year for a few years. quality, service, decor and food has gone down hill tremendously. the manager, some long haired doesn't give a damn about anything, does not cater to the unahppy customer!!!!!!!!!!!! came in to dirty table (corn kernels on the table- and, not from our dishes!! )mgr said he talked to the waitress and she didn't see it when we were seated!! well- the kernels were by the paper napkin holder... far away from her eyes! bathroom (women's) disgusting!!!!!!!!! looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days!!!! mgr said we only clean at 11 am and 2 pm.... too busy to look other times!!!! not worth the trouble, time and awful service and attitude.....i wish i could reverse the charge on my visa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!! NEW POST FROM JANUARY 11, 2025 Walked in. First mistake. Taken to a filthy booth. Had young gal wipe down seat. Went to buffet for soup. Had to rifle through cups for a clean one. Came back to cleaner booth- opened silverware. Filthy silverware with food still on it. Gggrrr. Food was so very, very meh. But I was craving Chinese food!!! NO MORE CRAB LEGS!! haven't been here for years- lots has changed. Food definitely has taken a dive to the depths of the dirty sea. Couldn't wait to get full ( even fighting with the baby crabs with no meat in them!!!) so I could have chocolate ice cream to refresh my palate from the not so good and oh so greasy mediocre warm- not hot and appetizing - food. Ice cream machine BROKEN!! little Chinese women SHOUTING BACK AND FORTH TO EACH OTHER. NOT ONE PERSON COULD FIX THE MACHINE !!! Boo hiss Went to pay. Manager ( Cecelia?) needs attitude adjustment big time. Asked her name and she retorted " I don't have a name" and the gal behind her laughed whilst eating a cookie in front of me classy. Real classy. I WOULDNT STEP BACK IN TO THIS FILTHY ESTABLISHMENT IF IT WAS THE LAST AND ONLY CHINESE RESTAURANT LEFT IN THE WORLD. WHERE THE HELL IS THE OWNER?? does the owner even know what is going on!?!?! health department needs to come in, again. and, classes on customer service to the gals in the front the seat people and take...

Like any place, this one has its pros and cons. It's been one of my neighborhood go-to spots since they first opened their doors, and they were worth 5 stars across the board for many many years, but I believe their massive popularity sadly changed all that in the last 5-7 yrs. My current rating is solely based on my most recent experience last week for dinner at 5pm on a Sunday.

Food: I always start w/soup & sushi, and both were as great as ever. I would even add that their new sushi chef is a wonderful woman, who graciously pointed out that she'd just made a fresh new platter of the roll I was about to serve myself. 👍👍 By contrast, however, many of the dishes at the buffet were the opposite of fresh, and had clearly been sitting there drying up since the lunch crowd left. Most notably was the Coconut Shrimp, which was like little coconut fried rocks. 👎👎 The same could be said for the half-shell mussels and the green beans. 👎👎

SERVICE: Great, as always. 👍👍

PRICE: Went up in the last month. Unfortunate, for sure, but given how inflation has hit every aspect of life, I guess it was to be expected. 😞

ATMOSPHERE: This has consistently gone way down. Admittedly though, it's thanks to the declining quality of customers who have, among other things, trashed the bathrooms and ruined the once pleasant ambience. That said, however, the proprietors have some blame as well, and the large screen tv forever on a sports channel is certainly part of it. On this occasion though, their tv had competition, as customers were watching their own shows on their own gadgets at full volume. Unreal, but that's the world we live in today. 😞 👎👎 Gone are the days of a relaxing, delicious and reasonably priced meal at what once was my favorite Chinese...

The china super Buffet is the. Top. Number one. Buffet restaurant. The place is excellent in their food and quality .all the food is fresh. The sushi is tasty. The squid the brockley beef. The egg rills the shrimp is excellent. The place is very clean and very. Friendly polite. Staff. Manager very professional and acknowledges His regular customer. I. Have been a regular customer. For. Many. Many. Years. Going all the. Way. Back to 2006. I recommend this restaurant in. La. Mesa ca. 100. Percent . I. Give it. 5. Stars. Excellent. Restaurant for families and friends. And. Workers. To go to. Ive brought. many friends and co workers over. Many. Times. To. This. Excellent restaurant. I worked at sharp grossmont from 1979 to 2012 and i have recomend this place. To other staff to.
