There was a parking lot so don’t worry about parking! We spent about 60$ for the two of us but you can get really full with 10-20$ per person!
This was our first visit but I’m telling you it is a really great place!! The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was great! The cute decorations and music were really relaxing! The staff is so friendly and they kept checking on us and brought us water frequently.
The bamboo basket is really good! It was really crunchy, fresh and tasty, the two sauces that came with it were perfect to go with, I especially love that there were two little spoons by the sauce so you won’t get everywhere messy.
We had the spicy level 4 green curry and it was really spicy for us but so goood! It’s really flavorful and you can taste the creamy coconut in it!
I had a medium rare Tiger Cry Steak but it was too well done and too dry for me, but besides that the vegetables that came with it were fresh and well cooked, the mint sauce was really good too!
We loved our dessert!!! The mango sticky rice is a little different than any other mango sticky rice I’ve had before, it’s a little salty and a little sweet, it’s a good balance and you gotta try...
Read moreWanted to try something new that has options for vegetarians. Bamboo Thai is less than 1/2 mile from our house but we never tried it because it never seemed very busy. The food was very good, not excellent, but better than good. The server was concerned about my order of the jungle curry since many customers order it and don't like it so she insisted on bringing me a sample of the sauce. The sauce was excellent although the heat grabbed me in the back of the throat. This was her only exemplary point in her service. After that, it was waiting twenty minutes or more for opportunities to get her attention for anything. Want water? Better wait 20 minutes. Want to order a side dish? better wait 20 minutes. Want to order desert? better wait 20 minutes. Want...This is sad since this is one of the typical storefront restaurants that has the equivalent of 12 small tables which were at less than 50% occupancy. By the way, my wife and I love sweet sticky rice with mango. This was the first time I have had this dish where it is salty. It also had an odd aftertaste, which may have been from the green food coloring they use...
Read moreFor the life of me, I don’t know how I could have lived in La Mesa and never knew about this restaurant before. For a first visit, I immediately knew this was a truly authentic Thai restaurant. Firstly, the service was exemplary. The staff was attentive to every party, and you never had to flag anyone down for a refill. They were friendly and hospitable. The food was prepared artfully, and most importantly, simple and deliciously filling—as I know Thai cuisine to be. They go by the 1-10 spice level, so every dish can be customized as you like, as far as spiciness goes. We had the Chinese sausage fried rice, somtom (papaya salad), potak seafood soup, and Thai tea. All were absolutely AMAZING. My absolute newest favorite restaurant in La Mesa!
Affordable, and well worth every penny spent. Parking is shared with other vendors in the annex, and had no problem finding one, even at dinner time. Comfortable seating area that is good for groups, as well as couples. Warm, welcoming, and clean atmosphere. I strongly recommend this...
