Denny's — Restaurant in La Mesa

1st of all, the only reason I'll go to Denny's is because there's nothing else open. It's not the food or prices that's so much of an issue. It's the fact that they are corporate and don't hire enough people, let alone train any of them properly, especially late night. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner with mashed/gravy and vegetables for the sides. 1 simple order of 1 item. I get the meal home and low and behold the cook put gravy on nothing. I'm talking about the mashed potatoes. There were none! The cook was obviously too lazy to make more mashed potatoes so just slopped a bunch of gravy on nothing next to the vegetables. This was done intentionally because nobody could possibly be that stupid. They don't care is what it boils down to. The proof of that is because I tried calling a few times and let the phone ring for 5 minutes and nobody answered. They weren't busy at all and there's no excuse for this. All I wanted was what I paid for. I had a box of instant mashed potatoes and had to make my own because it was too far to drive back. Slopping gravy onto nothing hoping that I wouldn't notice is a pretty rotten thing to do to a customer. Corporate could care less if you return or not because you're just part of the churn. They hire anybody they can for late night shifts and never enough crew to run a restaurant efficiently. It's no secret that greedy corporations only care about profits even if it means bad customer service, and lazy cooks. They take no pride in anything but their bank accounts and their over-paid CEOs. I'll never get take-out from Denny's again. This is only 1 of a string of bad experiences I've had late at night with all Denny's and I won't deal with this...

I used the mobile app for the first time to submit an order for a pick up so I can quickly pick up food my on my way to my destination. The confirmation email for my order said my food would be ready at 3:20pm. I get to Denny's around 3:23pm and called the store as the app and the parking lot sign instructs you to. The lady answered the phone and said the food isn't ready and to give them 5 minutes. Remind you, we're already 3 minutes after the confirmed time. Even though I was in a bit of a rush (hence the reason I used the app for pickup) I decided to wait. I then call back around 3:32pm to follow-up since no one has still brought my food out, and the same lady answered and told me that the food is still not ready and to give them another 5 minutes. Now I am upset because when I called the first time they asked for 5 minutes and they had 12 minutes, and now they're asking for another 5? I went ahead and gave them the extra time as the last straw. I called one last time at 3:39pm to cancel the order while I was backing out of the parking stall and the worker finally came out and handed me the food with no kind of consideration or apology of the inconvenience. Receiving my food 19 minutes late is poor service. They were VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!...

We went here New Years For my Son Birthday, 6 of us all together 2 kids and 4 Teens and 1 Adult We waited to be seated and no one spoke to us ignoring us for a while, then about 10 mins later a guy ask how many and he said about a 10 min wait there where lots of empty seats but we waited no problem then the girl came to seat us and stuck us right next to the toy machines and I asked if there is another spot she said No! Son Birthday New Year Baby well he’s 20 now lol but the table light was out Kids had to use there cell phones flash lights to read the menu my butt was hanging off the seat as we all could NOT fit here and I had to keep moving out to read the menu in the light! I have a rule no phones at the table and the kids weren’t sure what to do and I said it’s okay for the flash light but it lead them to play on the phones. Apart from this the Waitress was nice and understanding which daughter allergies but could NOT Guarantee no butter on her toast cause her Manger wasn’t here But Anya it went well but also disappointed why couldn’t we be seated else where or did the light bulb it takes less then a Min to change it or better yet move us to a table we would fit at and 1 with...
