On Christmas evening my mother, my roommate, and her daughter, and I decided to try our first dining experience at the Farmers table as we heard great things about the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted nicely and seated quickly. Greeted by our waiter five minutes later was an older male early 50’s with glasses with menus and asking what kind of beverages we would like to have. As it was busy on Christmas he arrived 15 minutes later to take our orders. Forty five minutes later he had returned to tell us there was a misunderstanding with our order and he had asked us once again what each of us had ordered (since it was Christmas we all considered this a simple misunderstanding). Another thirty minutes goes go and I ask the waiter what was going on and to speak to the manager since it had been over an hour upon us being in the restaurant and seeing that the guests who arrived twenty minutes after had already been served. The manager named Rudolfo had let us know that the kitchen just received our order and was working on getting our order out fairly quickly. Another thirty minutes goes by and our order had come out and I had ordered a ribeye medium rare, my mother had ordered the ahi, my roommate and her daughter had ordered sides such as the pizza, brussel sprouts, and mac and cheese. Needless to say my Ribeye was clearly rush just to be cooked on each side and the was not cooked medium rare, but was RAW. The other orders were cold and was clear that they had been sitting for quite a long time. Once AGAIN I asked the waiter to talk to the manager Rudolfo as we had been in the restaurant close to two hours. I let him know how unsatisfied our experience had been and how my ribeye was cooked RAW and the rest of the orders were cold. Rudolfo was angered and did not show one care to our experience and when I asked him if he was to experience what we had with his customer service how he would feel on Christmas and his reply was that he liked his steak close to raw and that he could not send the food back to the kitchen even to be rewarmed. Never in my experience of dining had I experienced such ignorance and rudeness from a restaurant and the fact that he could not send it back to the kitchen to be rewarmed and cooked. Needless to say he stated that there was nothing that he could do and we could leave, or we could re order and wait another hour. I have never experienced such disgusting customer service especially form a restaurant that I have heard great things form and we all left disappointed ON CHRISTMAS. We had left feeling discriminated and flustered on a holiday that should bring...
Read moreMy wife and I came down to San Diego during the Labor day weekend and had dinner here to celebrate my wife's birthday at Farmer's Table La Mesa with our son, and it was a delightful experience. As a family-owned and operated establishment, their commitment to quality service and organic ingredients shines through in every dish. Their farm-to-table approach is truly unique and has earned them recognition from various media outlets, including Eater San Diego, KUSI, and CBS News.
Their reputation for having a nationally recognized brunch menu with 10-pound Bloody Marys, featured on the Food Network, is well-deserved. But their excellence extends beyond brunch. The dinner menu and wine list are equally impressive, offering a fusion of American and Italian cuisine that caters to a variety of tastes.
We enjoyed our meal on the sunny patio, soaking up the atmosphere. The owners, Alberto Morreale and Vincenzo Loverso, are seasoned restauranteurs with a track record of success in the local dining scene. Their expertise is evident in every aspect of the restaurant.
The braised short rib was a standout dish, and the pasta dishes were nothing short of delicious. The Ragu sauce was rich and flavorful, and the pasta cooked to perfection. To top off the celebration, we received a complimentary dessert thanks to a Yelp check-in and a mouthwatering lava cake for the birthday celebration.
The service was not only friendly but also efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. Ample parking options, both on the street and in the restaurant's back lot, make it convenient to dine here.
In summary, Farmer's Table La Mesa is a must-visit for those seeking a memorable dining experience with a commitment to quality, fresh ingredients, and a warm atmosphere. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual meal, this restaurant is sure to leave a...

We made an order for 7 people on Thursday at 10:00 am to take away with drinks an hour before our lunch by phone approximately it was an order of almost $200 dlls .we work in a dental office near you on the same street to To be exact first time ordering we wanted a different option as we always order at swamis (although swamis restaurant is delicious we look for another option) first and last!!!!!!when ordering by phone they said half an hour to wait we marked the half hour and the food were not ready we waited another half hour we went to the place at 11:00 and they forgot an order of French toast and an orange juice. and strawberries in some pancakes the purple-haired host annoys said: that's why I told you the order and cloth I repeated over the phone and we said look at the ticket, he wanted to blame us since I see that we was right, she told us that it would take 25 to 40 minutes because there was a waiting time. It was not our fault, it was their fault, we talked to ask the manager, she left a bit upset, the manager never showed up, said that she was not there. We waited half an hour for our work lunch, we did not eat well, we returned with the food all bad of the 7 dishes, none The pancakes with chocolate without the option of honey were appetizing. According to they have whipped cream and you didn't even look at the time you had waiting for the forgotten food when you delivered it apart from the burnt toast. the arrachera steak was very bad the raw and chewy meat . we called in the afternoon to talk to the manager and she was never in the place according to. The truth is that we are disappointed in the place and the customer service. tell the truth if they are busy say how long you wait for them to deliver your orders well.
