They recently remodeled/reorganized and the inside is clean. I have been here a few times with my little one. Overall its not a bad place to spend an hr and I would recommend buying time as all of the games can be played whether you use credits or time. There are a few games that have broken controls and are therefore unplayable but overall still enough games that it should be easy enough to spend 1-2 hrs without the kids getting bored.
That being said, this last visit was a wildly negative experience. We went in because my wife said that they had a "Free 500 tickets" promotion advertised on their window as a reward for downloading the app. I purchased 2 hrs of time off of one of their kiosk machines and after spending 2 hrs playing games, we took our 5y/o to redeem his tickets. When we tried to inquire with the attendant about the promotion, she told us that the promo requires proof of purchase and that we had to scan the our receipt into the app. I showed her the receipt which had no barcode/QR code to scan and just stared at me and shrugged her shoulders and said "okay...?". I asked "Can you help me?" to which she passive aggressively replied "What do you want me to do about it?".
Not wanting to deal with her attitude in a conversation that was clearly going nowhere, I asked if I could speak with a manager. I explained the situation to the manager, omitting anything about my previous interaction as I had no intention of creating a problem for the employee. I just wanted to get the tickets for my son. The manager explained that the purchases from the machine don't count and that it gives you a warning indicating that said purchases are exempt on the machine when making the purchase and that I should pay closer attention when making the purchase next time. While I didn't remember any such warnings/disclaimers, this seemed a reasonable enough explanation so I allowed my son to redeem the rest of the tickets he had earned and proceeded to leave.
On the way out, I went to check the kiosk for the warning which the manager had told me was there and sure enough, I went through the entire process up to the point where it asks to enter in payment and sure enough, at no point was there a single word saying anything about any purchases being exempt or that there was somehow any difference buying from the machine vs at the desk.
This was incredibly frustrating as not only was the promotion ultimately a lie but the desk attendant was incredibly rude and even the manager lied to my face and said that it was my fault for not paying attention to a disclaimer that didn't even exist. All this over 500 tickets. To put in perspective, my son's 1000 tickets weren't even enough to buy anything outside of the counter display. A small rubber ring with a smiley face on it was a over 100 tickets. Absolutely insane to me that I was dealt with such rudeness and even lied to and blamed for the situation over what couldn't have been more than $1-$2 worth of prizes, and by a manager no less.
As mentioned at the beginning, the venue itself is clean and they have enough games to keep your little one entertained for a couple hrs but the staff were wildly...
Read moreAs of November 20, 2022 this establishment is going through several renovations. Unfortunately, this information was not made available to me while booking a small party online. Nor was this information made available when the manager called to confirm said reservation. Would I have still booked the party? Probably. But it would have been nice to know that the entire back wall was covered in plastic and taped off. That being said, the bathrooms are in need of some serious updates. Although, they may be being renovated as well. And for the record, not a toilet seat cover to be had in the women's restroom. Sure, I was able to use toilet paper to cover the seat...but it felt like some kind of health code violation. The girls in charge of our party were sweet and helpful. They seemed knowledgeable in everything pertaining to our party package, and were attentive to our needs. Our real issue was with the manager. While my husband tried to add on a few pizzas for the adults in our group, the manager insisted that our running total was upwards of $700. When my husband called me over to confirm, again, it was insisted that that was our total. For 6 kids and a few added on goodie bags? No! He asked the name of our party and when we told him, he was upset and hopefully embarrassed because the total ended up being someone else's and not ours. But instead of apologizing for the mistake, he lashed out at one of the workers standing at the register with him. As though it were her fault. He wasn't friendly or kind. And when we first showed up 15 minutes prior to our party time...we stood there for almost 10 minutes before we were greeted/asked for help. I read a few reviews beforehand and it seems everyone kind of has the same opinion. It's a convenient location for those of us in Whittier. The food was fine. Pricing was okay. The girls assigned to our party were wonderful. And we would definitely recommend a party at Chuck E. Cheese's, but there is a lot to be desired when it comes to the manager of...
Read moreFirst I want to say I don't like bashing establishments I just don't they usually try as hard as they can but this was bad it's not the Chuck E cheese that you remember it's something different I went with my daughter's soccer team and we waited an hour and a half for pizza and hot wings now that may not seem like too much if it was busy but they won't even that many people there the place is pretty empty I'm sure the company is trying to cut back on employees but they had literally about three people there working one watching the kids one watching the counter front counter and one in the kitchen that one chef my wife asked about the hot wings she asked how many came in a medium size of hot wings and the guy behind the counter said we don't do it by numbers we do it by weight he said it's about enough to feed four people when our orders was finally ready we had about six or seven little nuggets apparently they were boneless wings and we ordered two different flavors so they were about seven of each flavor each "Wing" supposedly was smaller than a chicken nugget from McDonald's there's no way for people can eat from that one person would not get full on that and they were as dry as they can come and it's not even what we ordered we were born in wings so they're going to make them again but I said no we don't have another hour and a half to wait. It was sad it was bad and it made me feel kind of depressed to be honest I miss the old Chuck E cheese but I want to be clear this had nothing to do with the people working there granted they were all kids no one over the age of 20 I think management just needs to stop trying to cut costs or do something to bring more Revenue in but it was bad will not be going there again RIP...
