I gave 2 stars because they are friendly even though the service needs much improvement. Trying to order when the sushi chefs are not behind the counter and the waitress was kneeling behind the register texting makes it difficult to eat when your on a 1/2 hr lunch. I have visited this place twice now. The first time was with my wife and we sat at a table, seemed pretty good even though we ignored the B rating in the window. The second time for me was the tell all!! I visited for lunch on my own and ate at the sushi bar. I went to the restroom and there was a blue chemical by the toilet all over the place and then there was soap all over the floor by the sink, disgusting! I sat down at the bar and discovered their "B" Rating. Smeared avocado on plates containing fish, specs of food on glass and all over the walls behind the chefs. The partition wear cooked food is passed to the front has a black cloth type curtain and that has smeared food all over it and has not been washed in how long? hand prints of more smeared food on walls in the back from chefs leaning on it. The over all building was filthy! if the front of the house is this bad I would be scared to see the back of the house or look in their walk in frig. The biggest thing for me though is when they served me spoiled muscles!! Food poisoning is bad enough but shellfish poisoning can hospitalize you! I have been eating sushi for over 30 years so I know when shellfish or fish in general is bad. Horrible over all experience. I could of given the benefit of the doubt if they would of been more attentive or offered me a discount but nothing! As a former Mgr in the restaurant business I personally would of comped someone's meal, but nothing offered here. She was kind enough to ask me if I would like anything else but I nicely responded "does it really matter? there is no chef behind the bar to make it for me" as they were out side. I am being generous with a two...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had plans to see a movie near by and was hoping to possibly have something other than dinner at the movies. š
I walked in and everyone welcomed me with the Japanese greeting; which Iāve heard many times.
After I took my seating, someone brought me a cup of miso soup; which I think all sushi restaurants should do this.
Now here are some complaints. My main waitress was horrible. There was another waitress who helped me out more. Not to sound rude but the waitress who didnāt have knowledge what the specials were on the board I had to get up and read the board by the front door. (Personal history time. Skip if you donāt want to read).
I worked in the service and restaurant for off and on 15 years. I even worked in both fine dining and casual places. As a server your job is to know the menu or ask. The horrible waitress did neither and had me get up to the board to read it. SMH. I started off a hostess/server to head manager to owners man boss of a business.
She was the stereotypical gen z worker who needs to be trained in friendliness and knowledge of the menu. As for the other waitress she was very helpful.
The bar/sushi were friendly and gave great service. The ambiance was ok could be better but that isnāt the main attraction for me. Itās always food quality and quality of service.
The food was great and the service was ok (some great and some horrible).
I really hope the tips are shared I would hate for the horrible waitress to get all the tip. I assumed it was shared so I gave enough for everyone (wait staff, sushi bar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a VERY well put together restaurant by the chefs and staff. I have been here twice in a week, and if my wallet and stomach were bottomless, I'd be here every day.
The staff is friendly, the options were incredible (just shy of overwhelming!), and the fish is fresh fresh fresh! They have a great jalapeno yellowtail dish, which blends into a wonderful spicy, tart, and meaty bite.
Try their yellowtail tataki, it's incredibly tender, lightly torched on top, and served with a light, delicate sauce
Not in the mood for sushi? Their ramen is incredible, and if you're in the mood for a refreshing cold noodle, they don't disappoint with their zaru soba.
I typically don't order rolls at sushi places, so I can't speak to their selections. The bulk have imitation crab, which I don't really like. If you're curious though, I'm sure they put just as much attention and care into these dishes.
I did try the all you can eat once. Please understand that the menu is limited when going this route, and the bulk of items you get won't be from the harder efforts of the chef or better part of the fish. This is why you can eat to your heart's content and only drop $25. That being said, I did get a better value than I expected.
I would highly recommend this place; they take great...
