The little Mermaid was so cute and colorful! True to the disney story. It kept your attention, and It didn't feel like it would drag along, The acting was really great! I felt the costumes were well done and all very aporopriate. The actors/artists made it feel like they were really into it and having fun, like each of them was meant for the role that they played! The sets were well-done and very beautiful! Ursula was a hoot, too! Also, very well played, btw! Loved her! And here's a shocker for ya! I didn't even fall asleep once! It was very entertaining,it held my attention, but it would have been even more so, if the public would listen and heed the rule of not recording/taping/or taking pics of the play, during the show. It's very irritating, I hate to say. I maybe could have said something? As this was super distracting to me, and it just makes me uncomfortable for some rwason, as if they were doing the nasty or something. But it detracts from the play and it takes. away a certain level of enjoyment from the actual play. Some ppl are just inconsiderate and just plain rude these days. But no judgment from here! Just an observation of mine. But... if this is perhaps one of you readers out there! I apologize. I don't mean to offend, so just check your own self so I don't have to wonder if I should take some kinda action or execute a full on intervention! Lol j/k But either way.. Im digressing lol now there's a cute little bar here, and thank goodness theyre very promp and not half badt! They also have food or dinner available at specific shows and times, like a group meet up, about an hour before start of the show. Overall we came away from it feeling more happy and maybe a little lighter, it took me back in time. Almost what 20-30 years! When my daughter was so young listenig to the songs they sang! So it's actually not at all half bad. I feel I spent my quality time well. Oh and the bar there. Did I tell you? The drinks including my cocktail somehow helps one with exuding love and tolerance, as well with needing increased patience with many ppl and children a foot! I forgot it wasn't meant to be adults only show anyway! So all n all, It was really fun, it got me outta my head and broke up some monotony I guess. It made my usual Saturday, day extra special and happy,,to be gratefully spending that quality time with my adult daughter and some close friends! My only regret...My baby, my grandson had to stay home with dad this time. :( Lol Next time he can hopefully come along. Btw Beauty and the Beast also looks to be promising on August 17th and 18th this summer. Let's see if we make it! I hope you plan to make some great memories soon, This can be life changing for a child. I feel it's vital to experience the arts in life, and to enrich our own lives in this way. I dont know if its for everyone. But It's a refreshing, and much needed, reeasonably priced, and entertaining local distraction, it def helped me escape for a few hours from the constant thoughts of the new crisis' of the day lately! Oops! Sorry to go on lol ok I'm off my soap-box now lol How dare I date myself huh? lol I wish for each of you, to have quality experiences, great fun and make good memories with your loved ones in your life! Do it soon, before you forget. Time is flying by so quickly, especially if we're not living it or...
Read moreI really love this theater The only complaint that I have is I went to see the George M. Cohan exhibit to see Davis Gaines. I met him years ago my mother arranged it for my birthday. I actually met him several times during Phantom days and have gone to many of his solo shows and performances at Long Beach and La Mirada theaters. I didn't think he was there and I looked up and he was walking right towards me I was there for my birthday this meant a lot to me I just wanted an autograph on my program I was so excited then this horrible man who is actually the host (who by the way said he had already left) physically put his body in front of me and shoot him out the back door and then put his arms out over the doors it was crazy and he made me cry and I left.. it meant so much to me because my mom had passed away and my dad had just passed away recently as well and they both knew how much I love Davis Gaines.. and the whole birthday thing. I just know that if he had heard me call his name and saw me he would have turned around really quick and just signed it and smiled and that would have meant the world to me. But that other guy was such a jerk he seems so nice on stage The host but he really was a jerk. I myself have been on stage and it's your fans that make you and I'm always humble with people. I do not hold it against Davis because he didn't even know I was there. So I'm only going to give a couple stars to this place because that person was so mean to me and made me cry on my birthday while...
