Cabo Taco Baja Grill — Restaurant in La Mirada

I came to this restaurant specifically to try their carne asada plate. My daughter, who wasn't hungry for the same food, got some sushi from the place next door and came back to sit with me while I waited for my order. About 20 minutes passed--my daughter had almost finished her sushi, and I still hadn't received my food--when the male owner suddenly came over, took her empty plastic sushi bag without saying a word, then came back and threw a sauce packet at the table, followed by a napkin in the same rude, aggressive way. Not a single word of explanation. His behavior was completely uncalled for. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable, so I asked the waitress to cancel my order, which she did. Later, the female owner came over and apologized, explaining that food from other restaurants isn't allowed due to health department rules and that it could cost them points. I understood the policy, and I told her that I would have respected it had it been communicated politely. But the way the male owner handled the situation was unacceptable. Cabo taco is always a go to in la mirada. They are always friendly and have pretty good food. I do like the fact that they normally have specials which are new and off menu. Gives you something to try when you are a regular. The salsa is very good. Shrimp tacos are good. The enchiladas are really cheesy. Chile rellanos have good flavor and the pozole is good as well. Spicy.

I am adding an updated review based on the service that we've received post pandemic...... Several times we've called to place orders and people pick up the phone and immediately hang up on you. We've called back several times just to check to see if maybe there was a problem with the phone and you can hear people on the other side saying unplug the phone so that nobody calls back. We've also called several times and told they us we are no longer taking orders so they could close early. I don't understand how you operate a restaurant and expect customers to be continually coming back if you're shutting the doors on them. Service has been very bad lately. Only reason we come is there are few choices...

From a 1 to 10 I’ll rate the wet burritos a 3 it wasn’t hot it was somewhat cold ! It taste so plain ! I think the sauce they used on the wet burrito is canned . this restaurant needs spicy bottled condiments on the table like Tapatio ,salsa huichol , cholula etc. it’s just your food and some smelly cloths wrapped around fork and knife . The waitress Alyssa has absolutely no manners there’s no thank you‘s there’s no you’re welcomes there’s no come again nothing she doesn’t know how to greet customers LOL she definitely gave me a vibe like don’t come back . lol glad she’s not my friend lol loosen up Alyssa be happy :) SMILE ! . That being said I will not be going back lol The art is beautiful . I highly recommend going to a real real authentic Mexican restaurant that taste better and you’ll save yourself a lot of money !
