This place is delicious. This is my 2nd time coming here, and was hesitant after my first visit's fiasco (I got home and they forgot a breakfast burrito, and had to return to pick it up. My chilaquiles need mushy by the time I got back). They were only open for about a week when that happened, so it chalked it up to growing pains. But everyone deserves a 2nd chance right?
On our 2nd visit: We ordered Asada burrito, al pastor burrito, red chilaquiles, sopes, and asada nachos.
Let me start off, it's hard to find a Mexican restaurant with asada that doesn't have all the nerve and fatty bits left inside. This place had ZERO of that, which that alone will have me coming back.
My brother approved of the asada burrito (which believe me, it's a miracle).
My mom liked her doors, her only recommendation is that the sope she'll be a smidge thinner, but still delicious.
My nachos were excellent. Not an issue for me, but these nachos use nacho cheese, not actually shredded cheese (maybe they can sub?). They come with a generous amount of guacamole. That guac is something. Definitely homemade. Doesn't have that "sucked the oxygen out of it to extend shelf life" taste you get from prepackaged store bought guac. The chips were very crispy and salted just right. The green salsa is delicious. Didn't try the red.
The dad liked the Chilaquiles. Personally, I don't order chilaquiles to-go anymore (from anywhere). They just end up soggy and mushy by the time you get home. But my dad didn't mind. I do believe they serve breakfast all-day, which is a must for my dad. He needs his egg. We had breakfast at 1 pm that day.
This will be on the roster next time we want to get mexican food. As of yet, they haven't resumed outside...
Read moreIf I could give minus stars I would. This place has really disappointed me. I called in an order of green chilaquiles and green pozole and I was told the green salsa is spicy. But this food was inedible, I've had plenty of Aguachile shrimp type meals and other spicy meals and no this food was beyond the edible spicy levels. I called to complain and was told that the spiciness level was out of their control, while I understand not being able to control the spiciness of chiles you certainly can control the amount of chiles you add to the food to make it edible! This was a ridiculous argument on their behalf! Not only did I not get an apology nevermind that, they hung up on me after telling me that plenty of their customers love the spiciness of their food and that I was warned of the food being spicy. This was on another level of spice. Hoping if you do decide to try their food you will have a better experience than that that we had and hopefully in the future for the benefit of those that do continue to eat their food the restaurant tests the food before adding all the chiles and make it a tolerable level of spice. As for us, I tell you with complete certainty I will not be ordering from here ever again. With the lack of concern they gave my complaint, they basically don't care about their...
Read moreI was looking for a local Mexican restaurant and came across this hidden gem. The reviews were great regarding the food quality. I came in with high expectations and I was not disappointed. I ate there. I was greeted and seated immediately. The waiter brought fresh still warm tortilla chips accompanied with salsa to enjoy while I looked at the menu(Delicious).I had an Idea of what I wanted but could not find it on the menu. I asked the waiter and she knew immediately what I was talking about. It was 1 taco 1 sope and 1 gordita. The food was well seasoned. The tortilla, sope base and gordita were hand made(if you know.you know) they did not skimp on the meat as you can tell on the picture. The waiter brought me two salsas to enjoy with my meal. Both salsas were flavorful with the green one being the spiciest. Definitely recommend you come in. I had an horchata that I know was not a powder mix. I had a great experience and will definitely be back to try the...
