This review is long overdue- and although i rarely take the time to review places, this one by far exceeds the worst service I've ever received from a shop.
Similar to someone who posted about a bad wiring job I had a terrible experience with Vivid Tint & had they been transparent and honest from the beginning I would not be wasting my time writing this out.
The issues I had with their services are too many to explain in this review box but i will say they put me in a situation where I ended up wasting $700 on top of the $900 they charged me for LEDs and a new stereo, all because they did a terrible job in the wiring.
Long story short, they cut the wrong wires when removing my stock radio and adding theirs. This sent an "alarm" to my car that something was off and thereby causing my car to dis-program itself. When i took it to the dealership (because i was locked out of my car to the point where it wouldn't read my key and had to get it towed) they had to reprogram the key, I had to buy a new one, and had to remove their radio. When i called them (vivid) to explain the situation they tried to blame my car alarm for the malfunctions even though I'd had that alarm installed 3 years prior.
I did not call them yelling or demanding anything, i simply asked them to come look at it and fix it. The owner gave me a lot of push back and did not accept responsibility so I have been in contact with a lawyer.
It's not the money- its the action and the lack of transparency.
As for the LEDs same issue. Only one was working and they would twitch. I got pulled over, and luckily the cop let me go because I explained the situation- but I couldn't drive around like that! I called them again, and they did not want to refund my money for the LED lights that were clearly NOT WORKING.
To top things off (because my boyfriend got a similar stereo with them) he called a couple weeks ago letting them know his display is not working anymore. He got his done less than a year ago and they refused to help him unless he has the original receipt. I know they have invoices of the work, and I know they know who he is and that its their work because he even signed up for the payment terms- they just don't want to help.
I am very disappointed with their service and lack of professionalism.
From past reviews I've seen that they've been replying and trying to discredit bad reviews. I sincerely hope they do not try to do this with my review. Please know that I have photos, videos, and call histories of every single time you were unprofessional and rude- and of the terrible job you did on my car.
If i could give a review without giving you any stars I would- you were awful to me, and what you did was not okay.
06/12: in response to your reply: I know exactly who you are Eddie. You are exactly who I spoke to , and you are the one who yelled at me over the phone and trust me you were not saying "God bless you" then. I will provide whatever documentation is required to keep my review posted including my original receipt, bank transaction, and other photo documentation. As for calling you, I have no intention of letting Vivid work on my car ever again. It look a lot of money for me to undo your mistakes - I have no intention of going back ESPECIALLY when you were not willing to help then. I hope you learn from...
Read moreI TOTALLY did not appreciate how Manager Sam and 'bold hispanic' assistant dealt with me. A few days ago I bought from this store a very expensive SOUNDSTREAM radio equipment (double the price than other stores). They wrote on my invoice the store warranty, also stating they were best service in town. While waiting for the installation, I heard at least 2 male customers that arrived stating some disappointment, both of them said 'that was not what you told me'. I have to give 2 stars to this review in order to write a comment, if not I will just give The Audio Center corner Leffingwell, Whittier, CA less than half star!! When I left the store after waiting for the radio installation, almost around 7:pm.; the hispanic assistant supposedly tried to assist me with a simple statement, 'in order for I (customer) to understand the new radio I have to read the instructions for 3 hours, because he needs to leave'. While driving home, suddently the system stop working and them start working again. Few days passed, and I visit the store to tell them what has happened and that the system fixtures were not properly working. I showed Manager Sam the problems and he was not able to fix it, then he proceeded to ask the installer. The installer was very pleasant to deal with, but at first instance, was also unable to make the system work properly (system was not working, then suddently it worked, then again did not work - back and forth). The installer decided to show Manager Sam the problem, and again, after trying back and forth the system worked again properly. The Manager Sam told me rudely that they were not a radio system 'SCHOOL', and that he has been working in stores like Anaheim (and kept mentioning other areas); to what I said, that was irrelevant and that I was not satisfy with my purchase and the service. Then Manager Sam said: 'no problem, I will change your equipment - charge you 30% restocking fee, plus $35.00 for another radio installation with the store credit he will honor me - and that I should read in my invoice that all of this is upon Manager's discretion'. I was very discouraged, and only said to him; 'if you really have does supposedly 36 years of experience, you should be able to offer quality customer service avoiding false warranty, written promises and disappointments'....
Read moreabsolutely poor service and pricing on stereos. I went my first time at this shop about a week ago to have an old double din stereo removed and replaced with a new double din with apple car play with a DVD reader. I gave them a budget of around $800 for a stereo plus labor. The next day I just wanted the stereo because I had another guy that can do it for way cheaper. Just for the stereo itself, it was going to be $600. I came the next day and pre-paid for the stereo in good faith but I checked the model number in the store after paying for the stereo (Pioneer 160bt) which retailed online for $320. I asked why there was such a price difference which I work for an insurance company and I know stereos are harder to come by and prices have gone up he stated that "Oh that's just how it is". Like I paid almost 100% MARKUP for a basic stereo. They 100% took advantage of me because I'm a young person and because I gave them a budget. So, I had an older brother call them the next day and he has been a stereo installer for many years for USAA insurance, Liberty mutual, etc. And I had him ask them why there is a 100% markup and that I needed a total refund. The guy that sold it to me stated that I needed to speak to a manager to ask them for a total refund, to which I elaborated that I didn't feel comfortable and I felt threatened. So, I haven't received my merchandise or I had to dispute the change in my bank, and eventually, I got my money back, but it was a huge waste of time. I ended up buying a Kenwood DDX5707S for $430 and had a mobile guy install it for $100. THIS SHOP IS EXTREMELY PATHETIC and would not recommend first-timers...
