The best of nice clean cut grass, & Trees all year round. Have come to this place for 4 generations. Open view all the way around to watch over the children. Water fountain, restrooms. Tables are situated nicely about...and I like that they chained them to the treesโ๏ธ. People had the habit of taking them to different sides at times. Not good๐คท One can bring their own if U prefer, ๐bonus. We miss the other table picnic area. But do to other problems in the past. We are just tickled pink to have our Park back and open for safety's sake. We Thank You "City Council" & City Workers that worked hard to make all this "SAFE", and possible again for our "Family". Love that Whittier is still caring & having the petting "ZOO" open for the children year round. The events of "Concerts in the Park, and Food Trucks available to make a great summer afternoon and night so enjoyable. WOW! COOL BEANS to everyone that made it & make it come together. Looking forward to 2024's schedule. Not too many squirrels here at this location. More cautious of the people that would like to feed them. None the less nature feeds them well. Shade will always be found in good spots. Always nice & welcoming...cool breezes, terrific spots to bring a blanket, pillow and book to read. Basketball court for the teens to workout. Only thing missing that I could think of:๐ค๐ญis a side walk, that would go all around the park! Be able to put some old fashion "ROLLER SKATES" on and just Roller Skate!๐ผ๐น Great fun & exercise. Wonderful playground for the children...And enough lawn n space on the other side of it, to play touch football, baseball, volleyball// bring your own net & poles. โฝ Soccer๐ค๐ค๐ Anyone out there on Google Maps have photos of what I'm talking about? PUT THEM OUT & POST! ๐คญ๐...๐ซตYOU GOT IT! ...

And NEEDLES found all over the park.. the city and cops are afraid to do anything in fear some homeless coalition is gonna expose them or take them to court.. The thing is.. theres posted Ordinaced signs saying the hours of the park.. guess laws dont mean anything anymore.. UPDATE. UPDATE. UPDATE.. We had to do maint. And tree trimming to the park. Which mandated an ordinance to remove the homeless and refuse the trash and sanitize the area. This happened thru state policy. NO HOMELESS as of yet but a new federal law may bring them back in September possibly. SO ITS SAFE TO BRING YOUR KIDS AGAIN NOT WORRYING ABOUT STEPPING ON A DIRTY...
ย ย ย Read moreBeing a park maintenance worker for county of orange. Iโm very disappointed in the city of Whittier on how they maintain there restrooms. It looks like they come to open them then come back to close them. With absolutely no maintenance in between. I had to make an emergency restroom stop. I usually go to a retail establishment for that. But where I was at the moment this was the closest. Plus I wanted to go for a brief walk to clear my mind. Funny thing is I was interviewed for a maintenance position with the city of Whittier many years ago. Didnโt make the cut. But I could assure you. These restrooms wouldnโt look this bad if I worked for the city...
