Parnell Storybook Zoo — Attraction in Whittier

Pretty disappointed by this zoo. The website states it’s open 10 daily. After driving 30 minutes to the zoo on Tuesday, december 26 2023, I arrived to find a closed zoo at 11am with a sign that said “closed due to weather”. What weather issue is unclear given the clear sky’s above, bright sunshine, & dry ground. I counted about 15 families that arrived at the park and just stood at the entrance like me and stared at the closed sign. The town needs to update their hours, and provide a working phone number so that people don’t waste their timing coming to a closed zoo that states “open” on the website....

Had my sons birthday gathering here and it was so cute and very clean! My son 4 and daughter 1 loved this community zoo! It is definitely a gem in Whittier!!!!! Please let us all work together to continue to keep this place clean and safe for the animals there.

So cute! It's quite small (depending on attention spans you might be done in under five minutes or you might stretch it as far as fifteen) but worth a stop by if you're not coming from far and you or your little ones like animals. Mostly barnyard critters but us city kids don't get to see...
