Aoki Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in La Verne

This was my sister and her friends experience today, keep in mind theres 5 people ages 16-17:

The lady made my friend cry by demanding my friend to put away the Mexican food she brought in order not to feel left out and proceeds to aggressively pay my friend on the shoulder 3 times, we all just looked in shock because we don’t know this lady that’s touching our friend.

It took 20 minutes for 2 lemonades and a sprite to come out then another additional 10 minutes for everyone’s food to come out (mins you we all ordered at the same time). Mind you we waited 30 minutes in total when the shop wasn’t even occupied. We also watched the chef take breaks amidst making our order. We proceeded to go outside because our friend was crying, due to the rude attitude from the lady, so she wasn’t embarrassed by the people coming in.

When it was time to pay we all decided not to tip because of her rude attitude. When my first friend went up to pay she was confronting her as to why she didn’t tip her and demanded my friend to tip her. My second friend paid for her meal and demanded a tip but didn’t receive it. When I went to pay she asked if I wasted my change back ($0.03) and I declined because if I said yes it’ll have led to another issue. When I told her she could keep it she stormed off, after that we left without finishing what we paid for

Additionally, the size of the Sushi California rolls were the equivalent size of a quarter which is completely unfair when you see the cost of it.

I work pretty close to this place. I took my daughter for dinner and talking down the road. We made a decisions to go to this sushi place. Everything was going well. Did the waitress I think she is part owner She came down to the table and asked me to pay while I was still eating. I was paying with my credit card and then I looked my wallet to see if I had cash to leave cash tips.

Then I continue eating. I was still eating and she came back and asked her for the tip and at that time I was already like somethings going on with this girl so I told her I’m not there yet.

I got up and asked her Where the restrooms where and what they different look she just pointed to the hallway.

The food at the place is generally ok, however the service and atmosphere are terrible. Today I went to the restaurant for the first time and when I went to order and said I didn't know some of the dishes there and had asked if there were portions with two units, the woman simply didn't explain, asked me to decide what to order and told me I turned around, and it said that there were no two-piece dishes, although the menu said that there were, even some of the ones I had asked about, that they were not missing.
