Buffalo Joes — Restaurant in La Vernia

Got a message about UPS needing to get ahold of me. Once I finally got through, it let me know my package arrival date has been moved to another time and pending. Looking more into it, the P.O. Box in LaVernia that I rent will not allow UPS delivery. Seems a little prejudice, but alright then. We are stressed due to the package is delivering Live Fish and don't want any more stress or harm for the animals. UPS store in LaVernia was unable to help saying UPS treat the stores the same way they treat their customers... Noted. And they left the live fish in a facility that does not allow pick ups in San Antonio. Even if we could get through to a manager it was 130 and they close at 3. We hope the fish arrive alive tomorrow in Floresville UPS. That being said it was wonderful to sit down at Buffalo Joe's and have a wonderful sandwich. Both BLT and Pattymelt was wonderful. Food is made to order so expect a wait but it has always been worth it when I go, they do have to go as an option. A good variety of appetizers, fried pickles are my favorite of any place, they come in a cornmeal type of breading and are thick with a little spice that I love. Sandwiches are good with plenty of meat to fill you up, I usually get the fries which have a nice seasoning on them, and get a pickle on the side. Sweet tea hits the spot, they have sodas also. Choice of breads for the sandwich is a good selection with wheat, white, etc. And sometimes jalapeno bread if they don't sell out before you get there. Burgers are good, not "quality" and are a little greasy but do the job...

We love, love, love this place! Such wonderful people working there - you can tell they really love what they're doing! Cute place with fantastic food. I will definitely become a regular every time we are near San Antonio!

We started out with the absolute best Fried Frog Legs we've ever had! Tender, juicy, crunchy, mmmmmmmm! My husband had The Big Daddy (hot roast beef with swiss cheese, peppers, onions, and horsey sauce all on a hoagie bun with sweet potato fries). He said it was the best he'd ever had! I had the M. Hilbig (jalapeno cheddar bun with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, mayo, and a fried egg with fried okra and a side of french fries). Best sandwich ever!!!!...
