Rice 2 Go — Restaurant in La Vernia

I really hate to be this kind of person but I had to because of the way they handled the whole situation 😭 ( very poorly ) I always go to Rice To Go & always order the #12 I have never had a problem with the service or the food; sometimes it takes a while to get the food but that’s okay . Well today Nov 13, 2024 around 1:00 pm My husband wanted us to go there he gets there first so I told him to go ahead & order the usual . He gets the plate before I got there & starts eating a piece of broccoli & this little piece of wire is in the broccoli he tells them about it they make a whole new plate (everything good). When I get there we get a whole new plate he tells me to tell them to be more cautious because eating something like that could be fatal as seen on the news but he tells me not to make a big deal out of it & to say something when other customers aren’t near by . We are done eating I ask to speak to the manager making sure other customers weren’t around & instead of being upset she was mad that I was mentioning the piece of metal to her she had the ugliest look on her face & all she would say was “I Know that’s why why made a whole new plate “ i kept trying to explain how dangerous that was & the outcome if something like that was to be swallowed & maybe recommend checking or changing the way they clean their cooking griddles (some people use wire brushes; very dangerous btw ) well she didn’t not care at all she was Very rude nothing to say seem very annoyed “okay “ I know “ looking at me like okay and !!!! I thought at least we wouldn’t pay for the meal well we did pay !!! Lol that’s when I lost it I told them that the least they could have done for us was give us a free meal or something apologize make sure this never happens again well NOPE ( did we want a free meal no ) & they said “well you got 2 extra egg rolls”!!!!!! & that was it never said sorry NOTHING !!!! Very disappointed & not coming back again 😒😒👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 & LIKE I SAID I HATE TO BE THIS KIND OF PERSON BUT THE WAY THEY DID NOT CARE AT ALL WAS VERY UPSETTING TO ME ! 🥲 WHAT IF IT WAS A KID THAT SWALLOWED THAT ? Update, Dinner, Monday, October 9, 2023.

Dine-in tonight. Fast and friendly service. Great tasting food, plentiful portions. Dining area and drive through were quite busy during our 7:30pm-8:30pm visit. I heard no complaints from other diners and drive through orders were going out quickly. I am very pleased to have Rice to Go here in the LV.

Ordered take-out for a 6pm pickup for Wednesday, November 30th. Unfortunately, half of La Vernia decided to order as well. Arrived 5:50pm for pick-up. I'm third in line at the counter. After ringing up the customer at the counter another customer enters, am I'm second in line. The counter clerk decides to take the next six drive-thru orders and neglects the counter. Never again! Took my dad here back in March when he came to visit for my birthday. I ordered the chicken broccoli plate and so did my dad. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the nasty smell of moldy sitting water. It was terrible. Then once we ordered and the owner brought us our plates I immediately got a smell of rotting meat! The chicken of old and they still cooked it and served it to us!!!! I quickly noticed it and left it alone. I lost appetite and my dad noticed it. He asked what was wrong and I told him this chicken smells awful and its bad. He just looked down at his plate and said "shit... I've already ate some" I only ate some of the noodles and then left the whole plate. By the time we left and came home my dad became sick!!!!! He was sick for about 3 days after eating there! I don't recommend this...
