Edit: I contacted Jim, the owner, since he was so responsive to my review. Jim didn't make excuses and took full responsibility for his staff's handling of the situation. He explained his staff's inexperience and ensured it would not happen again. I believe his sincerity, and I will be coming back to Hot Ginger Pho. Jim even refunded my whole family's meal cost. He didn't have to do that, but it showed me how sorry he was about the situation and how he values his customers. Thank you Jim, it was a pleasure talking to you.
Took my family to Hot Ginger Pho for lunch. One of the 5 ordered dishes was an ox tail soup. We found a hair wrapped around one of the ox tail meat. They offered to make another ox tail soup, but my mother had lost her appetite for the soup, and we politely declined the offer. When I was presented with the receipt, the ox tail was on the bill. I ask about it but was told by the cashier that 1) they offered to make another soup which we declined and 2) they "graciously" applied a 5% discount, assuming that this act was sufficient. I was so shocked that i paid the bill and left. I dont think I will ever return to this restaurant again. My search for another Pho restaurant starts. The shame of this situation was it could have been avoided by simply removing the ox tail item. Hot Ginger Pho was our favorite vietnamese restaurant...
Read moreToday I was feeling pretty sick and after a long day of work all I wanted was a hearty bowl of soup. Unfortunately when I picked up my food I was met with micro aggressive behavior as if I was trying to scam them out of a free meal. I walked in and gave the man my name and that I was picking up my online order. The man then grabbed my order and proceeded to ask for evidence of a confirmation. I showed the man my phone with the messages that my order was ready for pick up (I included the pic of what the messages said in this review) however this was STILL not enough and the man then proceeded to ask for proof of my ID. Which should not have gone that far in the 1st place because how would anyone other than me know that I was at that specific restaurant picking up an order at that exact time with my name. My paid order should have been handed over to me when I gave my name. Meanwhile when I was grabbing my ID out of the car a white male was walking in to pick up his order and was given his order without 3 steps of identification. As the man was walking out to his car i stopped him to ask if he was required to show proof of ID and he responded “No”. This behavior is disappointing and moving forward I will not be giving this business anymore of my hard earned money. This business needs...
Read moreSept 2022 The pho here is absolutely amazing! We got #5 (steak & flank) and #15 (steak, fatty brisket, tendon, & tripe), both large. The broth was delicious, with generous portions of meat and noodles. The price was pretty good for the amount. A note on the portion sizes: the large is the same size as a super large in the DC area and the regular size would be considered a large. They also gave us a generous amount of basil, and the basil itself was decently fresh.
We also got a spring roll which was pretty good, but the sauce tasted more like the brown sauce for the pho then the usual peanut sauce. The Thai tea was delicious and not too sweet.
A note on the combo options. We got the large pho & spring roll option, and they gave us only one spring roll. Which is different from what's listed in the appetizer section (2 pieces) but makes sense when looking at the prices. I'm guessing the same is for the fried roll combos (1 piece instead of 2), but I'm not sure about the gyoza combos. I'm assuming 5 pieces, but I'm not sure yet.
The place itself was clean with lots of room between tables. There was only one staff working the front (drinks, orders, and clean-up), but she was friendly and quick considering how busy it was. Would...
