We wanted to have something different from our usual fare, as we were kid-free tonight, and didn't have to pick a place where she is willing to eat. I'd seen this place when it opened, and didn't know what kind of food they served. So, we tried it. Walked in to nice, modern Asian-fusion aesthic decor. We were seated right away, and the service was excellent. Our appetizer was overcooked, but they replaced it immediately. The replacement was delicious (crab and cheese wontons with herbs), and our food arrived immediately afterwards. We had Singapore noodles with shrimp, and their sweet and sour Chicken Delight. The noodles were very good, with large shrimp, and a yellow Thai curry and coconut milk sauce. Flavor was excellent. The chicken was made with larger breast pieces, lightly fried, and a light sweet and sour sauce with fresh pineapple chunks and a teeny bit of spice. I'm very spice-sensitive (it disagrees with me), and I loved that they allow you to choose your level of spiciness, from none to 5 stars. There were many dishes we want to try next time, as we'll definitely be...
Read moreThey don’t have kid sized menu items. Our 1 yo and 3 yo eat what we eat but they don’t have kid size plate options for them which was a shame! Also our food was very good but only one lady seemed to be taking over and struggling to do it but wouldn’t let anyone help. We had a nice guy at first but then the lady heard us ask a question and she jumped in pushing him away and he never came back. At that point she was doing everything and not well. We got our spring rolls and had to ask for plates for our kids to have plates… at which point she talked on the phone and what not so finally my husband got up and got the plates himself. When she finally came back we were done with our appetizer.
She was kind enough to us but acted like having our kids there was not her job. She wasn’t going to give them plates or silverware and when we asked for all of us to have chopsticks she wasn’t pleased and then she watched my 1yo eat noodles with them and seems surprised 🙄 her whole reaction was so negative to our kids despite being quiet and...
Read moreThis is one of those places that has not disappointed us for date night or family time. The details are phenomenal in each dish my wife or I have had. Each item we have had has had an elevated "cook" on it. Meaning to say, simply dishes like fried tufu are fried perfectly. The outside is crisp, light, and airy. The tofu inside is smooth and creamy. I was most impressed with the the seafood, particularly the scallops and squid. Typically at other establishments overdone, chewy, and tough; these items are spot on at Lemon Grass, so soft they melt in your mouth. Our 7 year old told me that he thinks that have the best fried rice in Washington and he is quite the connoisseur considering that is all he will order at any Asian restaurant we visit! With all that in mind, the biggest reason to return is by far the service and atmosphere. The wait staff is extremely attentive and thoughtful in their efforts to provide you with top notch experience! My deepest thanks goes out to Ying, Hou, and Dau for always making our experience...
