Meconi’s Italian Subs — Restaurant in Lacey

I've been a loyal customer of Meconi's for well over a decade, and up until now, I’ve never had a reason to complain about an order.

Today, I ordered a combo with no tomato, but it arrived with tomato. That wasn’t a big deal to me. I understand mistakes happen. What really stood out, though, was that the portion size of the sandwich was noticeably smaller than what I’ve come to expect after many years of ordering the same thing.

I spoke to Garret, who said he made the sandwich. When I explained my concern about the portions, he interrupted me and told me he weighed the meat. While that may be true, the sandwich was clearly not up to the usual standard, and instead of listening or trying to make things right, he dismissed my concern. It felt like, because it was close to closing time, he didn’t want to deal with the issue.

Unfortunately, due to the poor customer service and the errors with my order, I’ve decided I will no longer be supporting the Hawks Prairie location. One bad sandwich isn’t the end of the world, but Garret’s attitude and lack of care as a representative of the business is what prompted me to leave this review.

So I was working in the area and I kept seeing this place... and not seeing a place like this in my area I decided to take some of the guys to lunch... Was a good choice... First thing I noticed walking in was how clean the place was.. not a thing out of place...that's a good sign...the people were very nice and took our order...we then found a place to sit and waited about 5 or so minutes and then our food came. I had the meatball sub with a side of chili and my co-worker had a Italian sandwich...my meal stayed hot throughout me eating which was awesome...lots of cheese covered the Meatballs just right and the bread was nice n fresh.... chili was very tasty and delicious... none of it lasted long...the Italian sub smelt great. All 4 of us really liked the place.. we all had a great experience and definitely worth the visit... I shall be back soon to try other things and get a seat outside.. looked cool out there. Very busy place, the parking lot was full and inside was somewhat busy. Friendly staff, clean all around and you're able to see the kitchen which is nice. You can order a half or whole sub, a half is about 8 inches which was pretty big. A whole sandwich for most people would be just about 2 meals. The prices are about $5 for a half and $9 for a whole, this is a GREAT value and for this reason it's worth checking out for lunch!

The subs were good, not great but not garbage. The bread is good, again not great. These are not like subs from the east coast, I live on the east coast and these are not them. The meatball sub was good, the meatballs themselves were pretty tasty, however the sauce taste like canned sauce :( The cold sub was good as well.

I'd order again from here as the food was good and the price was great. My only complaint was the meatballs were put on the sub whole, so they slide out of the bread as you eat it, wish they were sliced in half to...
