There are some cool hidden gem craft beer spots in New Hampshire & New England at large with D.A. Long Tavern at Funspot in Laconia, NH definitely being one of them. A friend had recommended I check it out since he said the tap list was much more diverse than he had expected. It had been years since I had been to FUNSPOT & I was immediately hit with a shot of teenage nostalgia since I spent over five years working here "in the day". From 1998 to 2003 as a teenager I worked on the floor, the restaurant, the ticket counter, the bowling alley counter, played Topsnuf (the dragon mascot) & more. A lot of fun & good memories here & even though I'm not a big gamer anymore I appreciate the preservation of the classic arcades. The team is keeping them safe in the amazing American Classic Arcade Museum on the third floor. I took some pictures featured below, but it's a place you should see for yourself, it's like a portal through the history of the 70's, 80's & 90's arcades. Enough about all that let's get to the beer now. ๐ป๐ป๐ฅโ๐น๐น
I started off with a can pour of the GREEN WIZARD IPA from Widowmaker Brewing, a really good above average American IPA. The awesome can art was a bonus, Widowmaker Brewing has some of my favorite art styles of any brewery I've seen. I then scooped a flight of four 6oz tasters starting with SPACE GOSE from Barreled Souls Brewing Company. I'm not huge into this style, but I enjoyed this & got so much flavor without a overwhelming amount of salt with it. My second taster was the EASIER OPERATOR Pale Ale from Deciduous Brewing Company which was excellent & better than the original EASY OPERATOR IPA in my opinion. BLUEBERRIES FOR ALL Fruit Beer from Peak Organic Brewing for my third 6oz pour which was really crisp & refreshing full of all that blueberry goodness. My last taster was the DISCO LEMONADE Fruited Wheat from Foam Brewers that pretty much tasted like a smoother Mike's Hard Lemonade, I wasn't a huge fan. ๐ป๐ป๐ฅโ๐โ
The tavern is located across from the bowling alley with a small full bar inside & a handful of tables to chill at & drink. You can't take your alcohol outside of the tavern for obvious reasons with all the expensive well everything around that probably wouldn't take well to liquid being poured inside of it. There is plenty to look at on the walls here to with a ton of history plastered everywhere for you to check out. This place is dangerous for sure, I wanted to have a couple more beers & attempt to beat Double Dragon upstairs in the classic arcades museum. The flight I got was under $10 bucks & 6oz tasters which was a great deal. A awesome place to check out for sure & plenty to do while you're here with three floors of games. Cheers! ๐ป๐ป๐ฅโ๐นโโฅ๏ธ๐บ

I always bring my friends (and their kids) here to play games, then chill at the appropriately timeless pub. Sure, it's a dive, but the beer selection is great, and the decor describes a local history of the lake that gives the place a real sense of history. Plus they have a genuine Budweiser game of Tapper, and not a political correct root beer version! What more can...
