Lake Winnipesaukee Motel — Hotel in Laconia

I called and made reservations for Labor Day weekend 3 weeks in advance. I was quoted a price, gave the manager my credit card number and email address to send a confirmation of the down payment on the room. I wrote everything down (price, mangers names, address etc.). When we got there to check in, the manager had not processed anything and decided to raise the price. I showed him the paper that proved our conversation and what he quoted me to which he agreed the conversation occurred. He and his wife on the phone up’d the price. Not good for his word. The room was dirty (carpet, bedding, baseboards, walls, furniture etc. all dirty and walls had drips and stains everywhere. We drove from New Jersey and halted at this motel for the night. The room was very comfortable and warm. We loved the interior decor (Hen themed). There was adequate heating facility, hot water and clean beds. The bathroom amenities were also of good quality. We also loved the fact that there was a Gideon Bible available in the room. Not a good experience at all. The women had no recollection of booking the room to me and was not going to refund my money either. She was very unproffesional and rude to me. The husband showed alot more patience and kindness. I really think the women may be in the wrong field of work.
