Edit: I changed my review to a 2 star instead of 1 star and some of my language - as it felt a little harsh on reflection. But my core comments remain the same. I am referring to the Lafayette location as I did not know they had multiple.

Based on what I've heard from other people visiting the Lafayette location there is a contrast to the current reviews. I don't think enough people are giving them the honest feedback they need on some of their products.

I am new to the area and was excited to try this place. I always try to support local and am happy to pay more if the quality is there. But it is not fair to charge the Laughing Goat's prices for the quality you receive. We spent over $60 on 2 coffees, a sandwich, and a couple pastries.

To start off - the coffee. The cold brew I had was watery and bland. My friend had the same feedback on her latte.

Got a few baked goods to try. They were frozen solid so likely not fresh or on the premises. We couldn't take a bite for 15 minutes and it was so frozen I could've chipped a tooth. That is not trying to be mean, it really was that solid. My friend got a pastry that I tried and the texture was dry and did not taste fresh.

I paid almost $13 for their chicken salad croissant which was a tiny and soggy croissant with a small swipe of chicken salad. We didn’t take more than 1 or 2 bites of anything we purchased. We were so disappointed as we were really looking forward to this place.

The service was not rude but it was very "whatever". We didn’t feel welcomed and the staff made us feel pretty awkward.

Is it possible we caught them on a bad day? Of course. But a bad day shouldn't impact the quality and taste. I hope they get the honest feedback they need and make improvements. I hope to update this review in the future, but I will not be returning...

I never leave reviews - but I felt I needed to leave one. I have been here several times and have never had any issues. The comments about the staff maybe you got them on a bad day? (People are allowed to have those) they have been nothing but nice and welcoming from the minute the door opens. They also seem to always be having fun and generally like one big family.

They throw story time for anyone who wants to enjoy and include a treat and little coloring page - this is what the community needed especially the Village.

Their coffee is amazing (again maybe not for everyone) I've had the teddy graham latte several times and I hope it never leaves their menu. 🤤

I can't speak much on the baked goods I've had their whipped ricotta which was great. They don't advertise they make their own baked goods at the moment. Following them on social media looks like the new location will have a kitchen now, personally I'm excited to see what creative things they bring.

I am sure hiccups and things are going to happen they are new here - but anytime I'm in the area I promise I will be back. Please don't let the few Debbie downers on here keep you from doing what your doing. Everyone has bad days and off moments.

Side note - if you really had that awful of a time instead of bashing a business why wouldn't you just go up and say something? Yea Betty I am talking about you and your almost...

This is for the one in Lafayette Village. 💖 I stumbled upon this little cafe like a week after it opened and I can’t get enough! I have severe celiacs disease so I have to be gluten free and it’s awesome to have such a fun place that also feels safe. I LOVE the macarons. They always taste fresh. Whenever new flavors come in I’m excited to try them. Especially cookie and batter flavored ones 🥰 The people are amazing. Maya makes the best iced latte that I’ve ever had and always makes my day brighter! I also love Kim, Ella and Sean! They always do things that make my day feel special. I highly recommend the creme brûlée macaron. The other day they introduced me to pink edible glitter! 🤭(sorry, Maya!) it was so delicious though! And a work of art. My Family and I always have excellent service and a fun time. I’m completely obsessed with cookie butter lattes. My puppy never wants to leave either. As soon as we leave she’s pulling me back in! We love all of our sweet friends! You are beautiful🥰 I tell everyone to come here. I love the atmosphere. I’m so grateful for such a special place so close to...

I live down the street and am somewhat of a coffee “snob” I was so excited to hear if this place opening up. I went today and it’s in a good location in the shops. The space is enormous, it almost feels a little empty. I ordered a small “teddy graham latte”. I was almost stunned when I was told the total was $8.88. So nearly $9.00 for the coffee alone. The coffee was fine, but that price i opted not to get any of the baked goods offered. Due to price alone, I probably will not return, pretty bummed..as a local there are many more offerings at more reasonable costs.
