Agave Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Lafayette

My party of 12 walked in tonight and they were happy to serve us. They let us sit where we wanted, I chose outside for us. The lights and decor of this place is beautiful and the staff was so gracious and friendly. Our server was Valerie and she was amazing. As well as the guy that was helping her, unfortunately I did not catch his name. She got us salsa and chips for starters and as my party trickled in, she began taking our drink orders. Once we all sat, she came around for our food orders. She came out with a pitcher of water for us and set it in the middle of the tables. Cook time was fast and our food was delivered hot. She checked to see if wanted any more drinks from the bar before it was closed. She also offered us desserts before the kitchen closed. I order the brisket tamales with the Mexican flag. (Red salsa, white queso, and green salsa). It's always a hot or miss when I order tamales that are not homemade. These ones were a hit. The rice ans beans were also delicious. As we finished, she came around with each of checks and we paid. Gratuity is NOT included. And we all work for dave and busters so we made sure that Valerie was taken care of for taking care of us. She was phenomenal. A few of us mentioned that we're mexican and puerto rican and she told us she was cubana and spoke Spanish with us. It made the experience so much more memorable. This was my first visit to this location but I have eaten at another agave restaurant several times and I always order the same thing. The Fiesta burger is absolutely delicious. It took me a long time to figure out what set it apart from others other restaurants burger offerings but I did it. The patty tastes like meatloaf. Perfectly dressed and seasoned, it is absolutely the best burger I have ever eaten and worth the occasional trip from Baton Rouge to enjoy.

My only negative about this experience was that the parking lot is extremely crowded so I ordered using a food app. So I could get curbside pickup. When the app told me the order was ready no one brought it out so I looked up the restaurants number and called them. They said to come inside and get it. What the hell is the point of Curbside service if I have to go inside to get it.

I paid a six dollar tip through the app. If I had dined in, that tip would have been paying for a server to take my order, deliver my food, refill my drinks, and process my Bill. I gave them an extra six bucks for doing absolutely nothing. Would have been 5 stars if they...

We were part of a large party, when our food finally came out or fajitas for 2 were cold and there was an accident and the server dropped and platter containing some of our parties food. I had to go look for our waitress and couldn't find her the waiter working the next table ended up becoming our waiter I do not know what happened to our original waitress, I asked him to replace the fajitas and he did. When they were bringing out the replacement food that had been dropped the waiter slipped and fell with the food a second time. It is almost hard to believe. I had to go and find the waiter to ask when my children and mothers food would be served. This was the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. Our meal should have been comped or atleast discounted. I am pretty sure the manager saw me looking for our waitress and never asked me what I needed. This was the first time I left $0 tip I felt bad, but this meal was terrible, we were there for a party so I didn't want to make anyone upset so I paid the bill.
