My fiancé, our 3 year old son and myself stopped here to have brunch today. It was around 10:30 we arrived and we were first greeted by a young hostess who was not friendly at all, not even the slightest smile.... We were seated and soon greeted by our very sweet, friendly server Eleanor. She brought our drinks very quickly even through she looked busy with many other tables and also making drinks at the bar. We all needed to wash our hands right after we ordered and we were gone a total of 2 minutes. When we came out our tables was bussed already and they took our coffee and drinks. The hostess came over and said “the manager bussed it I’ll bring you waters” and she came back but I said nicely “he had a coffee and a kids apple juice also please”. Well she never brought our other drink we needed then I saw her and another lady that I believe was the manager standing on the corner leaning on the wall talking. I felt like I really bothered the young hostess by asking for 2 drinks.. Our server came back and we let her know we still needed our drinks that the table was cleared off and she got them quickly and apologized for the inconvenience. We waited a little while and finally our food arrived. The manager brought it to us and was I guess nice, then got us silverware, but didn’t apologize for clearing our table off earlier. I ordered the Monterey Omelette and it was VERY oily on the bottom, I picked up my English muffin and it was dripping off of it. Way too much oil when they cooked it. Also the syrup bottle was SO sticky on the outside and bottom. I was very disappointed with how our first visit was here at Another Broken Egg. Our server was wonderful I really enjoyed her waiting on us but everything else was pretty bad for a higher priced breakfast restaurant. So if you are thinking about eating here PLEASE, pick a different location or choose different breakfast place...
Read moreWhat started off as a unpleasant experience with my family managed to take an amazing turn. While traveling back home to Houston,Tx from New Orleans we decided to stop for a hearty breakfast. Upon entering this establishment, we were greeted by your host and hostess. They informed us that it would be a 20-30 min wait due to the 6 people we had on our party. They gave us the option to sit at the bar. This is where it turned a bit unpleasant. We were traveling with 3 underage children and preferred they sit at the high table in the bar area versus at the actual bar. We asked the lady at the bar if that was ok. She very rudely said that we couldn’t just seat ourselves wherever we wanted to. Keep in mind that’s precisely why we asked. So I proceeded to ask the host and he proceeded to seat us when she started rudely telling him the same thing. When I told her that he was there to seat part of our party like she asked, she somewhat calmed. At this point we didn’t want to let her run us off, but we certainly did not want to be sat in her area. We all decided to wait to be sat together. While waiting the manager named Morgan came over and sincerely apologized for the situation. Once seated Morgan had water and bignetes for the table. Our server and our food was great!!!! At one point the the other server surprised us and stopped by our table and apologize, we definitely weren’t expecting that. Morgan went above and beyond what she had to do and we appreciate that so much. Thank you all for turning a bad start into a great first visit for my family members. Thanks for proving...
Read moreI eat here once a week with a friend, we have been enjoying breakfast here basically since the kids have gone back to school. I say basically, because life happens, kids have gotten sick, kids have had a break ect... Well I have tried a few different meals on the menu, I'm not really an eat the same thing type of person. Well... Today was awful, I don't recommend getting the Tropical Maker's Mark Bourbon Tacos.
I did ask for the sauce on the side, since you never really know about sauces. Well the Bourbon BBQ Sauce tasted like straight Bourbon, the chicken was just 2 full chicken strips on tortilla, not cut or shredded. The mango salsa was part of a cut mango with chopped bell peppers (I don't think it was cooked just cut up). The lime crema was... Well I would love to know because it tasted like sour cream mixed with lime.
So basically I had potatoes, chicken strips, and water. I asked my server for a side of ranch since I had to drive and decided getting drunk off of BBQ sauce (I'm not a drinker) probably wasn't the best idea I have ever had. She did bring me ranch, but I guess the taste in my mouth was still just awful the ranch even tasted bad and costed me an extra .99. Quick recap, no tropical tacos! Thank me later!!!
Ps... here are a few items I recommend Shrimp and Grits, Cinnamon roll french toast, Mardi Gras omelette, Crab cake Benedict, Big easy scrambler, Apple fritter pancakes, Shrimp Benny, Southwest chicken sandwich, and the fresh apple juice. I'm sure there are many more amazing items on this menu. I just haven't...
