I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chimes in Lafayette and I can't rave enough about the incredible food and exceptional service they delivered. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Let's start with the star of the show: the food. Chimes certainly lives up to its reputation with a menu that boasts a wide array of mouthwatering options. Everything I ordered was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared to perfection. Whether it was the Cajun-spiced shrimp, the perfectly grilled steaks, or the delectable seafood étouffée, each dish was a celebration of Louisiana's culinary heritage. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident in every bite, leaving me craving for more.
However, what truly set Chimes apart was the impeccable service, led by the extraordinary waitress named Sammy. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine enthusiasm for her job made the dining experience truly memorable. She was not only incredibly attentive but also had an extensive knowledge of the menu, making excellent recommendations that elevated our dining experience.
Sammy's personalized approach and commitment to ensuring our satisfaction were truly commendable. She went above and beyond to ensure our glasses were always full, our orders were taken promptly, and any special requests were accommodated with a smile. Her passion for creating a delightful dining experience was infectious and made us feel like valued guests.
Aside from the fantastic food and service, Chimes Lafayette also excels in creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The rustic décor and charming patio seating added to the overall charm of the restaurant, creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
In conclusion, my visit to Chimes in Lafayette was an absolute delight. The sensational food, outstanding service, and the presence of the incredible waitress Sammy combined to create an exceptional dining experience that I won't soon forget. If you find yourself in Lafayette and craving a taste of Louisiana's finest cuisine, Chimes is an...

Read moreI’ve been here 3 times now. The first 2 times I got the charbroiled catfish platter with sweet potato mash. Great stuff. 3rd time I had pork scallopini. The pork itself was awesome and fried super thin and crispy like a chicken cutlet. Didn’t even taste like pork which I loved. Not chewy at all. The pasta that came with it was nothing to write home about. Average restaurant pasta that’s overcooked, too thick, and not seasoned.
For apps, fried alligator, fried cheese, stuffed mushrooms, and spinach dip are good. Don’t waste your money on chargrilled oysters here…
Desserts weren’t my favorite, but others in my party liked them.
The bar tends to be a mess. They have issues to sort out. My second visit, I was told that if I ordered a drink, I had to open a bar tab which was separate from the kitchen tab so I’d have to pay two tabs. My third visit, my drink was added to the kitchen tab and they didn’t open a bar tab. When I tried to open a bar tab they got confused and didn’t understand what I was talking about. I also ordered a dirty martini and received straight vodka. The bar seems overworked and unorganized. There doesn’t seem to be good coordination with servers and bartenders either.
Service was absolutely excellent for my first two visits. Third visit was lackluster in comparison, but that’s the nature of different servers having different personalities and skill sets.
Someone else already said it, but benches outside would be great. However, the waiting arrangement isn’t too bad. The host texts you when your table is ready. In the meantime, you can go to the bar or grab a glass of wine and stand on the deck. You can sit by the fire pit which is nice if it’s cold out.
Bathrooms are clean and cute.
Overall, i’m not necessarily trying to come here again any time soon but wouldn’t be mad if I had to. I’d try the bbq shrimp and...
