I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chimes in Lafayette and I can't rave enough about the incredible food and exceptional service they delivered. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Let's start with the star of the show: the food. Chimes certainly lives up to its reputation with a menu that boasts a wide array of mouthwatering options. Everything I ordered was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared to perfection. Whether it was the Cajun-spiced shrimp, the perfectly grilled steaks, or the delectable seafood étouffée, each dish was a celebration of Louisiana's culinary heritage. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident in every bite, leaving me craving for more.

However, what truly set Chimes apart was the impeccable service, led by the extraordinary waitress named Sammy. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine enthusiasm for her job made the dining experience truly memorable. She was not only incredibly attentive but also had an extensive knowledge of the menu, making excellent recommendations that elevated our dining experience.

Sammy's personalized approach and commitment to ensuring our satisfaction were truly commendable. She went above and beyond to ensure our glasses were always full, our orders were taken promptly, and any special requests were accommodated with a smile. Her passion for creating a delightful dining experience was infectious and made us feel like valued guests.

Aside from the fantastic food and service, Chimes Lafayette also excels in creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The rustic décor and charming patio seating added to the overall charm of the restaurant, creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

In conclusion, my visit to Chimes in Lafayette was an absolute delight. The sensational food, outstanding service, and the presence of the incredible waitress Sammy combined to create an exceptional dining experience that I won't soon forget. If you find yourself in Lafayette and craving a taste of Louisiana's finest cuisine, Chimes is an...

Do yourself a favor bring your family or friends to Chimes. We were so excited to try out the soft opening. I promise you will not be disappointed! We had the onion rings they are large, crispy, and delicious. The spinach dip is so incredible! We also tried the blackened alligator, boudin balls, and the raw oysters all for appetizers. They were all delicious and can’t wait to go back and try some different appetizers. The salad with the pepper jelly dressing is incredible. We had the pork with pasta it was incredible, the fried shrimp and fish were delicious, had a hamburger that was one of the best burgers, the steak was cooked to Medium Rare perfection like a high end steakhouse with flavor, the best was shrimp and grits it had so much flavor and absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to go back and order that for my meal. I am also told the seafood lasagna is delicious. I can’t wait to try it! This restaurant is absolutely beautiful! I love all the aesthetic’s especially the outside dining area. Go see for yourself and make sure you bring friends or family that let you try their dish! I promise you will not be disappointed! The drinks are also very good we had the Cajun Ade I believe is what it was called and the Bloody Mary’s are so good! The bread pudding was incredible! We can’t wait to go back and try some different dishes! The staff was all friendly, excited about their job, and worked so well together helping each other out! I wish I would have took pictures of the food but we enjoyed it so much that I never took my phone out at the table. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Chimes for choosing Lafayette! Please go out and support this restaurant! You will not be disappointed! If you looking for a Christmas gift for the hard people to please get them a gift card to Chimes. I was impressed for a soft opening they have not had time to work the kinks out. I thought service was fabulous for a busy night. I cannot even imagine how it can get even better once they have it...

I’ve been here 3 times now. The first 2 times I got the charbroiled catfish platter with sweet potato mash. Great stuff. 3rd time I had pork scallopini. The pork itself was awesome and fried super thin and crispy like a chicken cutlet. Didn’t even taste like pork which I loved. Not chewy at all. The pasta that came with it was nothing to write home about. Average restaurant pasta that’s overcooked, too thick, and not seasoned.

For apps, fried alligator, fried cheese, stuffed mushrooms, and spinach dip are good. Don’t waste your money on chargrilled oysters here…

Desserts weren’t my favorite, but others in my party liked them.

The bar tends to be a mess. They have issues to sort out. My second visit, I was told that if I ordered a drink, I had to open a bar tab which was separate from the kitchen tab so I’d have to pay two tabs. My third visit, my drink was added to the kitchen tab and they didn’t open a bar tab. When I tried to open a bar tab they got confused and didn’t understand what I was talking about. I also ordered a dirty martini and received straight vodka. The bar seems overworked and unorganized. There doesn’t seem to be good coordination with servers and bartenders either.

Service was absolutely excellent for my first two visits. Third visit was lackluster in comparison, but that’s the nature of different servers having different personalities and skill sets.

Someone else already said it, but benches outside would be great. However, the waiting arrangement isn’t too bad. The host texts you when your table is ready. In the meantime, you can go to the bar or grab a glass of wine and stand on the deck. You can sit by the fire pit which is nice if it’s cold out.

Bathrooms are clean and cute.

Overall, i’m not necessarily trying to come here again any time soon but wouldn’t be mad if I had to. I’d try the bbq shrimp and...

Seafood Lasagna 🤌 The Chimes Lafayette

We celebrated my Mom's birthday for Lundi Gras at Chimes. It was busy and the restaurant didn't take reservations, so it was a bit of wait for a party of 7, but it wasn't too bad. I had the Black Jack chargrilled oysters, crawfish fries, and boudin egg rolls, which were all delicious. Everything was good and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. However, there were 2 things that caught me off guard. I wanted to order a dozen chargrilled oysters, half & half, which would be the traditional and Black Jack flavors. Well, I was told by the waitress that I couldn't do half & half, I have to pay them separately. Now keep in mind that the half dozen oysters are like $17 and the dozen oysters are $26. I said, "You do realize that doesn't make a lick of sense, right? Because why would I pay an additional $8 for the half & half dozen ($34), and y'all can just charge me the actual $26 for it?" She apologized and said, "Unfortunately, that was the restaurant rules🙄." I can't tell anyone how to run their business, but trying to make an additional $8 off of your customers just for a half & half order is simply insane, ESPECIALLY when every other restaurant in the city allows it at no additional charge (i.e. Fezzo's, Don's, Half-Shell, etc.) Secondly, I asked the waitress if the restaurant provides a dessert or sings "Happy Birthday" if someone is celebrating their birthday? She said, "No, we don't do any of that ma'am. We don't even give military or senior citizen discounts. " I said, "Oh WOW, that really sucks that the restaurant doesn't honor the military or senior citizens. They need to do better. " So, that's my only two issues with Chimes. Overall, it's a nice a restaurant, I really like what they did with the space. Food and drinks are good, customer service was decent, but they can do better in those two areas.

The Chimes has a cool vibe, probably one of the better atmospheres for a restaurant . It's got a roomy inside with a great bar stocked with a solid selection of beers on tap. The patio is is what draws your attention. It has a nice dining area to eat, but also a big open area to just hang out with a drink, converse or watch the game near the fireplace. The Chimes has enough TVs to catch a game without making you feel like you're in a sports bar. The food can be hit or miss depending on what you pick. Nothing’s been terrible, but a lot of the menu is just alright. I'd suggest going for the spinach artichoke dip to start, then maybe the chicken fried chicken, red beans and rice, or the shrimp and grits (they're a bit salty but still good) for your main. Good sides are the stuffed potato, sweet potato mash and macaroni. If you’re just looking to have a fun time, grab a snack or watch a game, The Chimes is a great spot. If you’re all about the food quality, you might want to check out some other places. Here is my ratings Spinach and Artichoke Dip: 8/10. Solid choice to kick things off. Chicken Fried Chicken: 7.5/10. nice crust on it. Red Beans and Rice: 7/10. Could use more beans and less rice. Macaroni: 7.5/10. Nice and creamy Kids Fried Fish: 8/10. Not the best flavor out there, but it’s not too fishy and the small strips are nice Cheeseburger: 5/10. Kinda basic. Sweet Potato Mash: 7/10. Nicely done, not overly sweet.
