Well with 5 kids it is difficult to be able to find time to enjoy a meal out with just my wife! So her & I only get to go every few months. We we do, it is only at Bonefish Grill in Lafayette! Now, if you are reading this, chances are you have already heard about the quality of the food. Bonefish is synonymous with good food at the best price point. What you may not know is the amazing quality of staff at this restaurant. Lafayette is packed with great restaurants, however finding one that has such an accommodating staff is not an easy task.
On our last visit we were running late for our reservation & had to bring our 8 month old. Not our original plan! I called the restaurant and they said not to worry they got it. When we arrived we were greeted instantly by Jeff, the Manager, & seated within seconds and they already had a high chair. My wife was amazed. They had thought enough to put us in a large corner spot to give us enough room with all the baby gear! Oh & the baby loves the paper table covers. Lol Through out our meal we were checked on multiple times by Jeff and his Assistant Manager Tyler. They both asked if the food was perfect and if the Service was perfect. As always, it was! Our main waiter was Colby. This is the first time we have had him wait on us. He was outstanding & super helpful with our multiple menu questions. He seemed to have memorized the menu options! He is like a Bonefish Menu Ninja! So, bottom line: you have many quality food choices in Lafayette. If you want the best food and the best customer service in town, go see Jeff and his outstanding crew at Bonefish. Call ahead, because if limited Covid seating. PS: the Bang Bang shrimp & Tuna appetizers are...
Read moreWe went here today for lunch and were very disappointed. For starters, we waited an hour and forty minutes for a table (we needed a table for 8 people. So not a huge party, but not small either). I reminded the hostess, who told me it would be a 20 to 30 minute wait. Basically, she had some customers at a table who, after finishing eating, just wouldn’t leave (rather rude of them). I understand that the restaurant can not control their patrons in situations like this; however, having worked in the restaurant industry, I know that there are polite tactics to make a customer get the hint (like bringing out the check. Or asking if there’s anything else they want. Being that we were within eyesight of the table, I can safely say no efforts were made from the wait staff). Once we were finally seated, the waiter we had was very slow and he did not bring us the complimentary bread they usually bring. I also ordered one of the premium sides with my entre, the asparagus. For a premium side, the asparagus sure was bland and boring. In short, we were made to wait for an hour and forty minutes, the hostess/staff seemed indifferent to our issue and made no effort to encourage the obnoxious table to leave, we were not given any sort of complimentary bread or appetizer “on the house” (which is typically what would happen in such a circumstance), the waiter certainly didn’t make any extra effort to rectify the situation and perhaps appease us as patrons (ie: was slow and forgot the bread), and our food (at least mine) was sub par. I’ve been to other Bonefish grills and have really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, this place just didn’t live up to...
Read moreDisappointed- that’s the best adjective to describe the food I received tonight. My husband and I like bonefish. We frequent for date nights. This has also been a hot spot for me to bring my clients and agents. I work for a local mortgage broker and own my own credit repair agency. When I have a sit down meal at this restaurant, it’s usually on point. The drinks are great, the food is good and the staff give top notch service. HOWEVER, the quality of food a restaurant provides should equally match both dine in and take out. This was unacceptable. I ordered the Mahi poke bowl- yet I received this mess of a to-go plate that had lettuce, spinach, and white rice. None of which are ingredients listed within the description of this meal. The white rice (supposed to be jasmine) was so undercooked, it crunched and got stuck in my teeth. Whatever sauce I had was excessively watery. So much so that when I tilted the plate, the liquid ran to the edge. The sauce was weak and flavorless. Unfortunately I was unable to finish this meal. Our favorite dish at Bonefish, the bang bang shrimp were pitiful. The photo speaks for itself.
To make matters worse, we received the “Order is Ready” text at 5:33pm. We arrived within five minutes and by the time we made it home, our food was cold. The bang bang shrimp were cold & my husband’s burger patty was cold.
I’m only giving this place 2 stars because they’ve been amazing for a dine in meal. I’m a firm believer that your quality should extend past those front doors and they let us down. We will not...
