Sitting in my car outside of the restaurant I Tried to place a curbside order, something must have been wrong with the system cause my payment was declined due to billing info. I entered the same billing information in twice and both times I received an error:decline due to billing address, however at the same time I received a text notification from my bank saying an Applebees purchase was made . I checked my account, and it showed two pending transactions from Applebees in the amount of $48.32. I immediately went into the restaurant to find out what was going on . I stopped a waitress and explained to her what was going on , she explained that the manager would be able to better assist me. The manager comes out ( no ,I didn’t get her name ,but she was a short white lady with dark hair) I explained to her the situation, even show her where I have 2 pending transactions. She proceeded to say ,well it’s not showing up on our end . I was like ok, but it’s not in my account either. Instead of going back and forth, I took the initiative to refresh my banking app and there the money was put back into my account. I show the manager, while she was standing next to me .She proceeded to say ,ok good and have a nice day and walks off. Not a would you like to go ahead and place a new order here at the register, not a I’m sorry for the inconvenience, nothing . She just walked away .
Then a server by the name of faith come back to the register ( she was standing at the register before and had walked away) . Faith asked , had everything been taken care of ? I told her,no she didn’t even get my order. Faith, proceeded to take my order and when the order was ready ,she brought it out to me.
I said all of that to say management should have done better with this situation. I just don’t like that after you (the manager) saw the funds were returned to my account ,you didn’t make an effort to even take my order, knowing that there was obviously an issue with...
Read moreWent on a Friday night for dinner. Overall, it was okay. Nothing to blow your mind but it is what it is.
Location: a bit awkward (we are from out of town). We actually passed up and accidentally pulled into the wrong parking lot. There were plenty of parking spots available.
Atmosphere: comfortable. The seating layout of the whole restaurant is in the shape of a "U" with the bar in the middle. It did kind of suck sitting right next to the host station because that was in my ear the entire time (hearing complaining, wait times, phone calls).
Service: pretty absent. We only saw our waitress to take our order and bring our ticket. Otherwise, other staff members assisted. Even when leaving, we asked for a Togo box and the waitress seemed to have forgotten (brought back payment and walked off to chat with a nearby table- possibly friends)
Food: plenty to choose from- steaks, shrimp, fish, chicken, ribs, salads, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, soups, mac & cheese, potatoes, veggies, etc. Prices are about $10-25 depending on what you get. I ordered the bourbon street steak with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. It was okay- my steak needed better/more seasoning. The sides were decent. My friend said her mac & cheese was cold.
Overall, it was just okay. Nothing spectacular. Prices were okay and wait time was quick (20 minutes). Service wasn't that great, food lacked seasoning. I would return and try something different, but it wouldn't be my first choice as a restaurant if I...
Read moreOur waitress was really nice, but the kitchen needed help today. The restaurant was not incredibly busy in spite of the fact that today is a holiday. Management must have expected a light crowd and staffed accordingly, because the wait staff never stood still. On of the members of our party ordered one if the menu items with a couple of simple alterations. I understand special orders or instructions can sometimes make order preparation complicated, but they were simple requests and we were assured they could be done. When the food arrived none of the requests had been honored. This was brought to the attention of our waitress and the situation was rectified with abundant apologies. As we were enjoying the meal, and I got about halfway through, I noticed a hair on the plate under some broccoli that I had just eaten. Again the waitress apologized and offered to bring another plate of food, which I politely declined. I understand there will be times like the one I have described in the every restaurant, but drawing from both my personal experiences and some I have witnessed, there seems to be more of these instances here than other places I visit. To me, when the food is average, the service needs to be exceptional. As I mentioned before, the restaurant was not extremely busy when the parking lot at the one 100 to 200 yards away was full. Could this be the...
