This place was such an incredible disappointment for us for food but service as well. We got there early because we had plans for the day, we were actually the first ones sat so it was far from busy. We had been looking forward to this visit as we had heard good things and love Dumpling hour across the street so the idea of a new dumpling place, especially one that serves lemon chicken was amazing. Again, keep in mind there were not busy during this visit as they had just opened.
It took a very long time to get our drinks. Which were never refilled the entire visit.
We had a hungry toddler in our party in a high chair on the end. One server opened the steaming hot dumpling containers immediately in front of him which common sense would tell anyone is a horrible idea. I can only assume she did this because not once was our table NEVER pre bussed to remove appetizer plates to make room for our lunch and she certainly wasn’t going to do it.
The four of us ordered entrees, all four came out at significantly different times, the last we saw sit in the window for quite a while before being run. We were pretty much done by the time it arrived. If this was a sixty or seventy dollar lunch, you know what, fine. Disappointment sucks but fine. My expectations would probably be lower but this was a hundred and fifty dollar lunch for four people.
The food. Right smack dab in the middle of mediocre. The pork belly tasted like nothing but Chinese five spice. The orange chicken was fine, just average. The lemon chicken was forgettable. The pork chop was not great. Rice is rice. Considering the service issues, SO NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
Our server was nice, we never saw a manager although we expressed concerns to the server. Just overall, won’t be returning and won’t be recommending...
Read moreMy family and I wanted to try a new place and happen to see that Noodles and Dumplings was opening. We always love to find a new place to try and for it to be a homemade noodle and homemade dumpling restaurant we could not pass. First and foremost when walking in you are welcome with the smell of amazing food and greeted by friendly staff. Our server Sadie, was beyond amazing to find out she just started serving, you cannot tell at all. We were very impressed with her patience with our little ones and how she always came to our table with a smile. She kept our drinks filled and made sure we were well attended to! Now to the food, we had a variety of different dishes from salt and pepper chicken, wontons, walnut shrimps, pork belly noodles, bbq bao, combo dumplings and more. Every dish tasted very fresh and delicious. The noodles had the perfect chewiness, the combo dumpling by far the best we ever had, they were so juicy and tasty! Now for the walnut shrimp and salt and pepper chicken you would think it being fried and the walnut shrimp having sauce it would get soft, you are mistaken it maintain it’s crunchy and honestly stole the show! The bbq pork bao was a huge hit with our little ones each had about 1 and a half and loved every bite. From the owner making sure we were okay and that our kids were entertained was so kind of her! To the manager even checking up on us and giving us amazing insight on there process to making the different color dumpling wraps from scratch! Overall our experience was a 10/10 and we most definitely be back! Also if you like spicy ask to try there spicy chili sauce you will not regret it whatsoever! Amazing job for there first opening from the food to staff! This is one place Lafayette truly needed! Cannot wait to...
Read moreI was skeptical at first, we’ve been to many dumpling spots and weren’t very impressed but this place changed that! I do have a gluten allergy but I figured the heavy discomfort was worth it, at least for one day, and I wasn’t wrong! We ordered the green onion pancakes and they were very delicious and flaky! They came with an oil based dipping sauce which had a bit too much of a bite for me but my fiancé thoroughly enjoyed!! We also ordered the Singapore noodles which had a great flavor but a bit too much bite for me (it didn’t have a spice indicator next to it on the menu) so I ended with the Vegetable fried noodles and they were perfect, the flavor I wanted without the heat! I had no idea how DELICIOUS fresh hand-pulled noodles are!! We then ordered vegetable bao and they were fantastic!! Probably one of my most favorite bao of all time! The only meat dish we ordered was the Mongolian chicken and the flavor profile for it was wonderful! The red onion and bell pepper mixed in really added some complexity! We were going to save ramen for next time but we decided “why wait” so we ordered the Black garlic oil ramen and it STOLE THE SHOW!! Probably the best ramen I’ve had in the states!! Not a fan of fish cakes unfortunately so the photo has an altered version minus the cakes but otherwise would definitely order again! Lastly, it was my fiancés birthday so we ordered the custard bao and the little robot came out and sang happy birthday to him and delivered the bao! It was SO CUTE!! The video of it failed to save! Have your birthday here, and you’ll see for yourself! Our server was on the ball and very knowledgable and helpful! What a great experience!! I definitely recommend this place if you’re ever...
