En Lai Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Lafayette

This place is cheap! Probably one of the cheapest if not the cheapest American Chinese restaurant in town.

The buffet is very small and they don’t rotate the selection. Because it is so small the food stays hot and fresh but they run out of food on it.

Because this place is so cheap and portions are good it stays busy! It can be extremely crowded especially at lunch time.

The downside, the place is a total dive. The restroom doors are filthy, the floor is filthy, the ceiling tiles are stained from leaks and there are large clumps of dust all over the ceiling.

I can’t believe the health dept. hasn’t been in here over the lack of cleanliness.

Maybe the reason people don’t get sick is because the food is such a hot temperature that it kills off everything?

They need to close for a day and clean the place.

I seen them taking broccoli out of boxes and not washing it and just chopping it up and throwing it in the woks. I don’t think they wash any vegetables.

The kitchen area looks dirty and employees have open drinks sitting around and stop cooking and are drinking at the cook/prep areas.

The location on Creasy, might have good food, but their customer service sucks. I just discovered a discrepancy with their (newly discovered multiple websites). When I brought it to their attention, they ARGUED for over 10 minutes on a difference of less than $2.00. They also took a hands off approach that two sites that had their location information but off by under a dollar on each item. After the multiple times I've gone there and referred to people there, I felt that as a customer who wasn't told the total at the initial phone order (and KNOWING there are sites out there that have wrong information), there should have been a little more understanding, clarification for the future, and so on. This is usually my go-to for chinese food when I'm home, but not anymore. We ordered a combo plate of sweet and sour chicken for my daughter and niece to share, as well as a few other combos for the rest of the house. The food came quickly, but the sauce for the sweet and sour chicken was missing. We called immediately to let them know, expecting an apology and quicm delivery of our sauce since we are only a 5 minute drive away from the restaurant. It took over 40 minutes to get the tiny cup of sauce here and by that time the chicken and rice were cold. We asked about a refund for the chicken and was told that we had to give the food back to recieve a refund and that it would only be $2.00! Not happy whatsoever. Will be ordering elsewhere...
