I am Iranian/"Persian", and I crave Persian cuisine/Chelo Kabobs [*all of them], even subconciously I think, at all times. Sometimes, I crave the more general category of "Mediteraranean" style cuisine to scratch that less specific itch. The foods will often be similar, and very tasty with an Afghani, Turkish, or Indian twist on the preparation - depending on the restaurant focus/owners/family. I was in town for a performance later in the evening on Friday 12/21 at Town Hall Theater, and needed to eat before the show... and I was HUNGRY. A bit beyond, actually. I had a "less specific itch" for "a good chicken kabob, good basmati rice, salad "shirazi" (a Persian chopped cucumber salad) and maybe some humus and pita." To scratch that itch, I Googled a little in the area, then found and dropped into "Kabab Burger Mediterranean Grill." I immediately found it to be very well kept and clean as I walked through and up to the counter to order before sitting down... except that, I waited... and waited... (only about 2 min.) - "OH!" - before noticing the little note on the counter reading, "Be Right Back -cashier". So I waited patiently about only another minute or so, while kitchen crew were busy prepping food etc., and also taking care to acknowledge me with a smile (nice guys, all of them) and a nod and then motioning, "isn't there anybody up there to take your order?" I motioned, "nope, but..." Before I could hold up the cashier's note to show them, HERE COMES MICKEY to the rescue! :D She was so nice, friendly, and FUN. She took my order, sat me down with my cold beer, and when my REALLY DELICIOUS food came out I stayed to enjoy it all - very relaxed, over the following hour - with some great conversation and laughs from this DYNAMO of a server/cashier named Mickey.
I came for the food, but I stayed for the Mickey. :) I will be back for the food, and hopefully another dose of Mickey - lol.
Now go, crave on my good people... and scratch that itch at Kabab Burger Mediterranean Grill
PS - Wassup MICKEYYY?!! I told you...
Read moreI hate to say this, but these guys totally scammed me…
Basically, back on January 17, I made an order on their website for pickup — total was about $61. I paid with my card online.
Two minutes later they call me saying they don’t have one of the items and if I’d like a substitution. I said no — and asked them to cancel. Since they never actually put the order together, I asked them to refund me for the payment. I said yes, they will refund me the $61.
A few days pass and the charge is still on my card — no refund. I call them again; they say they refunded me and to wait a few more days.
Two weeks pass — no refund. So I call the bank and initiate a chargeback.
Now it’s two months later and my bank just told me that they were presented with a Terms and Conditions document from Kabab Burger saying basically that once you put in your credit card number and press the order button it does not matter if they make the order or not or if I cancel — it’s absolutely not refundable.
Not only this is totally a scam — they lied me on the phone. If they told me it was not refundable I obviously would have taken the substitution. I suspect however that they never intended to make the order… it’s...
Read moreI’m updating a 5 star review of this place based on my experience today. I called to order ahead and was put on hold for ........15 minutes. By the time she actually picked up again I was pulling into the parking lot which I explained-to her. Her response was “see ya soon then” and she hung up not taking my order. Then I walk into a line of about 8 people and she is forgetting to add drinks in orders running very slow etc when another caller rings in and she said “can you hold?” I couldn’t help myself and asked her why? Why not just take the order, you had me on hold for 15 minutes and hung up the phone??? All I got back was don’t yell at me! My voice wasn’t raised - I walked out and won’t return as a regular customer and catering client again. Help wanted sign on the door should be in bold!!!!
Worst customer service experience of my life. Great food here but can’t deal with it. I literally fell out laughing reading the bad review about portion size. One pita can feed two people. Great med spot and the...
