Used to like that place, but quality of food and service has gone way down, and scamming customers is NEVER acceptable.

Extremely disappointing experience during our last visit, the food was average at best, but the main issue we had came with the bill.

As we were about to fill out the "gratuity" portion of the receipt, we realized that there had been an item added between the first check we received and the second one we were given to fill out. That new line entry read "pre approved gratuity" for 25% of the total bill ! Not only was this NOT mentioned to us or "pre-approved" in any ways, it was also added in a very misleading way, as it was still prompting and allowing you to add ANOTHER tip on top of that wrongfully added previous tip.

Not wanting to cause a scene as I was with my family, and considering how the food quality kept degrading with each visit, we decided this would be the last straw and that we simply not come back anymore.

Patrons beware, as I doubt this despicable practice was just a one-off "mistake". We were a party of 3 which doesn't even come close to the mandatory "large party" gratuity typically mentioned on some menus, so I can't think of anything that would have caused this "misunderstanding" besides greedy and scammy practices.

There are better options available in Lafayette just in terms of food quality, and I'd recommend to take your business elsewhere to one of the many restaurants that don't try to pull scams on...

The most unpleasant experience we have had at any restaurant in USA. I choose my words carefully, this was on Valentines day first time trying out this restaurant, we go and ask for table for two. The person asks do we have reservation and we said no. There are close to 15 empty tables and it’s 7:15 PM; he says hmm let me look if I can find a table and after a min or so he says “yes I have a table but you will have leave by 8:45 PM”. We thought that was bit odd. He takes us out and gives us the last table completely away from all the people where everyone is sitting. At that point we realised we are not getting treated respectfully and we choose to leave and we saw a bright and a happy smile the moment we said. We went to the next restaurant we had great time there and after that we were passing by some time before 9 PM and we saw close to 10 tables empty. So there are just two possibilities that why we got treated differently maybe because of colour or maybe we came with a baby who was sleeping in the stroller. Either way we felt we got disrespected and felt very bad. But had great time at different restaurant and got treated respectfully. I wish I had taken pictures of empty tables to provide more proof but anyhow that was...

Fun, Fun, Fun!!

Ideal date night. Great food, great service, fun setting with music and the street ambiance. We had a fabulous night.

We worked all through the menu and got full before we could try the paella. That awaits our next visit. Peruvian food is new to me so this was a great adventure. So many small plate choices which made the night out a ton of fun. This is all the creativity of classic spanish food but more rustic with some small touches that make it stand alone. Remember, Peru is the origin of the potato and it is celebrated in wonderful ways with fun new flavors. Also, don't miss the beef heart skewers. These are yummy and not nearly as adventuresome as they sound. Peru also gave us ceviche and Barranco does it beautifully.

Too many great choices to list. Just set aside a night with a great date and a curious appetite. Both will...

I’m Peruvian, and my toddler looooves Peruvian food.. her favorite dish: causa de pollo. I went to this restaurant at dinner time and ordered causa de pollo for my daughter, when the “causa” arrived she threw a tantrum because what was in front of her didn’t look or taste anything like it! This looked like something out of KFC with some tasteless mashed potato. If you are Peruvian and/or are looking for authentic Peruvian food this isn’t the place for you. I’ll attach pictures of this “causa de pollo” and please google causa de pollo and see for yourself the difference... and please don’t call this “fusion” food! This isn’t fusion food! This is some made up stuff! Call it something else!

One of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. The cebiche is great! Always say yes to the home made chips for the cebiche. There’s a few restaurants in this chain that I can review separately. The drinks are cold and nice. There’s a lot of creativity with the starters, my personal favorite is: langostino crocantes… for the mains, we have tried almost all of them so far, and top scores for everything. The shining star is the Lomo Soltado obviously. But don’t shy away from the Pescado a lo Macho! The service can be better but at least everyone is friendly and polite. The live music on weekends is something to look forward to.
