I’m a long time customer on Kevin’s seafood. Until tonight. On Sunday, June 4th, my lady and I visited Kevin’s on Ambassador Caffrey Pkwy. As both long time customers, we appreciated the consistency of quality and wanted some good seafood. We went into the store and placed our order, 1 small fish dinner with fries, one fish and oyster dinner with shrimp fried rice, 2 egg rolls, and 2 drinks. We paid for the order and waited for it to come out. When they brought out the order, it was missing the whole small fish and fries order. So now I’m faced with the fact that even if they went back and made the second order, the first one would be cold, however it seemed like an honest mistake and I was willing to just accept that and not let it ruin our dinner together. When we informed the young lady at the counter that we were missing an entire meal, she didn’t seem to care in the least. She seemed distracted with something else other than seeing to the satisfaction of a long time customer. After about the third time explaining to her that we were missing a meal, and all the while the one meal is getting cold she stuck her head in the kitchen, shouted something, turned back to us and said “they don’t have any more fish and turned back around and walked off. She never apologized, never tried to make it right in any way, and didn’t seem to care one way or another if we were satisfied. They hadn’t charged us for the second dinner, and neither did we want anything for free. As a long time customer at the University St store I can state that this experience was the WORST that I have ever had in Kevin’s seafood. The fact that they botched our order was one thing that I was willing to chalk up as just an honest mistake, although now I realize that the lady waiting on us was distracted by something much more interesting than simple customers. That’s ok, mistakes happen, I’m not happy, but I understand. However the attitude we got after that just floored me. There is no excuse to treat a customer like we were treated tonight. Messing up the order is one thing, but not even caring it offering to make it right, there was no excuse for. It was such an unpleasant experience that I doubt that I will ever return to the place again. Restaurants are “hospitality” businesses, something that we were shown NONE of tonight. I hope they fix it, but I hope even more that no one else has the experience that we had tonight. We ended up with one meal between the two of us that we took home instead of eating there, and had to make another stop to get something else to have enough food for us both, so inevitably the fish was cold by the time we got it home. Very disappointed. You guys can do better than that. When you think you can do better, let me know and MAYBE we will...
Read moreI am from out of town. And I just wanted some seafood before hitting the road. I placed my order. And I went up to the counter and ask if they offered pepper oil for my fried rice. I am assuming the Lady was the owner. She’s looking at me. And she said something very low. And my response to her was are you needing me to explain what I am asking for. Are you just don’t understand what I am asking for. And she’s acting like she’s looking for something and not saying anything. So I got pissed and told her don’t worry about it. My thing is where is the customer service??? No matter how you look at things. Consumer are the people that’s keeping these doors open for your business. After my order was placed that doesn’t mean. Customer service should have stopped. As the owner or whatever you are. It’s called leading by example. You shouldn’t be upset or try to hold your team accountable about customer service. When Clearly you as the Manager/Owner. DO NOT know anything about that. But NO WORRIES I will never return again. I don’t care if the food was good are not. Customer Service is powerful and having great customer service. Is a great marketing tactic, because Everyone will talk about your establishment. Why because the customer service and your food is Top Tier.
Being rude to the wrong person. Will put you in a situation you can’t get out of. Just know everything is...
Read moreTrying to find what to order is probably the worst part of the whole experience because it's all SO GOOD. I was first introduced to Kevin's Seafood with a piece of fried catfish and let me tell you- I was hooked. Everything is fried to perfection, seasoned to a T, and the portion sizes??? A large seafood platter is enough for 2 meals: 2 pieces of fish, 10 shrimp, an unhealthy amount of fries (but whi complains about that really?)and it's only $10.99. And the burgers are so mouthwatering. They definitely have a kick -but you can request less spice if you'd like- and they are so big you feel like you might have to tap out but you've come too far to quit now. Plus the burger alone is about $7 I mean you cant beat that quality for the price. By the time we're done with the burgers we usually don't have room for the fries. The fried rice is also a great alternative to the fries in each platter. If you haven't gone yet- YOU HAVE TO GO ASAP. And the staff is always...
