The staff that was manning Lafayette facility on the afternoon of 4/27/22 were not trained to care for or handle dogs. If they had been trained they heartlessly disregarded their training. I was told while touring that there were breakaway collars that were used in extreme cases. During the short time that my dog was there, I witnessed (on their live cameras) a slip lead being used to literally drag my boxer, on his back/side across the floor to the kennel area. They initially stated that he was being aggressive My dog was on his back with another dog standing over him. If there was an aggressive dog he definitely was not the aggressor. There was no reason for the slip lead (rope) to be placed around his neck in the first place. When I witnessed the incident I called (knowing that he was in the kennel from watching the live feed) and asked how he was doing. I was told “he is doing great playing right now with the other dogs well and having a blast”. He was in a kennel at that time and was definitely not having fun. I immediately rushed to the facility to get my dog. I made it very clear this was unacceptable and would not return. The manager did call the next morning after watching the video of the incident. He acknowledged that the incident should have be handled differently! Really! I would suggest that you think long and hard before you trust your beloved pet to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of taking my dog Franklin to Dogtopia for his first-ever day of pet daycare, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with our experience. From the moment we walked in, the warmth and genuine care from the staff were palpable. It’s evident they’re not just there to do a job; they truly care about the well-being and happiness of each dog.
Throughout the day, the staff engaged in constant interaction with the dogs, ensuring they were not just looked after but also mentally and physically stimulated. This level of attention and dedication is something I greatly appreciate, as it gives me peace of mind knowing Franklin is in good hands and having a great time.
The facility itself felt very welcoming and had a sweet atmosphere that both Franklin and I instantly loved. It’s clear that Dogtopia isn’t just a daycare; it’s a place where dogs can thrive, socialize, and be part of a loving community.
I highly recommend Dogtopia to any pet owner who wants their furry friend to experience the same level of care, love, and fun that Franklin did. A big thank you to the friendly staff for making Franklin’s first day an absolute joy. We will definitely be...
Read moreI researched several options and I’m so glad I chose Dogtopia. My poodle mix rescue puppy was shy and scared of everything and everyone new. But by his second visit, he was playing with other dogs and interacting tentatively with staff. Now, a couple of months in, he’s super excited to get out of the car for his play days. Every staff member knows him by name and he responds positively to them all. I love checking in on him during the day with the webcam, and he’s always playing happily with his dog friends, or being cuddled by a staff member; they are all very friendly, professional, and attentive.
I haven’t boarded him yet but will have no hesitance when I need to, and I’ve had one great experience with the groomer.
Fees are reasonable for the care and attention they provide. I...
