So far so good. I am reviewing this restaurant after only one visit. I went during lunch on a Friday. I had the Speedy Gonzales and an order of guacamole. I've eaten at El Paso and another Mexican place in Crowley before trying La Hacienda and I have to say that it is my favorite. The meat is seasoned really well which it isn't at the other two places that I've tried and the guacamole dip was really good. The other places add too much lemon in my opinion. They seem to have a very good selection of liquor including tequila in stock it's weird that you can't find patron a lot of places here so I was happy to see that there were a couple different options for patron. The restaurant is a little small on the inside but they do have booths and tables with sturdy wooden chairs. The service was good and my food came out fast. They weren't busy though. I liked their salsa more than the other places that I've tried here it's more cantina style which is what I prefer I feel like the other Mexican restaurants in the area add too much chili powder. Overall this is one of the better Tex-Mex places that I've eaten at since moving to Louisiana and I definitely want to go back and try more off of their menu.
Edit: They lost a star because the last time we went it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had there and the food had changed drastically it was still good but it just did not taste as good as before. The service was horrible🙄 our waiter was short with us he forgot about us a bunch of times we didn't get what we asked for. I hope this kind of thing doesn't keep up because I won't go...
Read moreWe have been going to this restaurant almost once a week for a few years now and never had a problem until yesterday (8/2/22). My wife is deathly allergic to shrimp and she ALWAYS tells them this and ask that they be careful while preparing her food and up until yesterday there has never been a problem. Yesterday was no different in that she asked to be very carefully making her fajitas that she was deathly allergic to shrimp and the waiter said no problem that he would pass it on. Well when the fajitas arrived she began eating and about halfway through she noticed a couple of shrimp at the bottom of the plate, she immediately stop eating and we called the waiter and he of course apologized and offered to get her another plate of food but she refused, he returned and said he would take the fajitas off the bill and apologized once again. The manager NEVER came over to see if my wife was ok and offer his apology for the mishap. My food tasted like it was heated in a microwave (and not enough at that, the plate was hotter than the food). Needless to say we will not be going back, there are to many GOOD Mexican restaurants in Lafayette to continue going there. My wife had to take medication because her throat became inflamed, luckily the medication worked and a trip to the ER was...
Read moreSecond time coming here. Unfortunately.. my experience was horrible. When we arrived. We ask for a table for 7 outside. I asked the server could he please clean the table. He took a napkin and wiped the table. Then took our drink order. It took over 20 minutes for a drinks to be delivered to our table. When it came to ordering. It again took another 50 minutes for our order to arrive. The food was amazing. However.. the concern for me came when I received my receipt. As you can see.. on both receipts I was labeled as “glasses”. When I asked why I was labeled as “glasses” I was told that was how the staff referred to me at the table I shared with other people. I found this to be upsetting and disappointing because no one else at my table received their bill labeled. Very disappointing and confusing. Please see the...
