This is by far our favorite Meche's Donuts. I grew up inbetween Arnaudville and Grand Coteau so we would go often. When we moved to Erath we would stop by every weekend on the way to my mom's (and again if we visited during the week). The donuts are better than any of the other locations. I've always gotten fresh, hot donuts here. But that's not the best part of this Meche's... This location has the friendliest, most kind (and most efficient) employees. They seriously can make you smile even on your worst day. (I would know.. the weeks and months after my daddy died we stopped by more often than ever before because we went that way a lot and I always smiled at least once despite how deeply sad I was feeling each day. That kind of thing sticks with you.) Since my mom moved, we only go to put flowers at the cemetary in Carencro so we stop by for donuts then when we can. I just recently followed them on Facebook and it is just what I would have expected... always posting things that make you...
Read moreWe normally love Meches. Every time we are in town, we make sure to stop by. I've never been to this location before, but I had made a phone order to special request two king cakes with Blue and White icing for our wedding as my husband's groom cake per his request. The note attached to the receipt showed special request was ONLY blue and white so why did all the extra colors come in to play I dont know. So we didnt even display them like they were supposed to be, we just had them on the dessert tables instead. Other than that. The flavors were there, the freshness we always come back for was there, we really do love Meches, but they definitely let us down on one of our biggest moments...

After that, I can't get a cream cheese filled donut (thick white cream) and they gave me grainy (undissolved sugar) nasty yellow colored filling. When I asked why the cream cheese I asked for had yellow colored filling instead of white cream cheese, the woman said filling was inserted while donut was hot and that is why the cream cheese turned yellow. The filling was grainy because the sugar was not dissolved and tasted nothing like cream cheese filling. After two more times of ordering cream cheese filled and getting the same nasty yellow grainy mess, I ordered one bavarian cream and one cream cheese to see the difference. Both were exactly the same and servers are just lying to customers to get rid of crappy donuts or stock they have,...
