I walked in at 5:45 on a Wednesday afternoon. My Mom wanted a booth by the train, so I went to pick a seat. In the 9 booths in that section, 5 were in use, 3 were covered in trash, and one was sectioned off. The woman on duty saw me look around the corner to see if there was seating available, and immediately put up the "section closed" sign. I stopped and asked her if I could get a rag to wipe down the table. She grabbed a towel from a prep area and handed it to me, and proceeded to stand and watch me do her job. I handed her the towel, and then had to ask her to clear the table. Big mistake. I've been a server for years and would never allow a customer do my work. I understand it's hard to find help now, but if you accept a job serving, you CHOSE that job. Put some pride into it. So, we sit down and give our order. I ordered 2 personal pizzas a salad, and 3 cokes. Whomever I spoke with had a whole conversation about they serve Pepsi. I said that was fine. The "server" then read back my order. As we are waiting, we hear the people in the booth beside us talking about their drinks being held up. After TWENTY MINUTES I called the kitchen again to see where are drinks are. To my surprise, I am told there is no order for table 9. So, instead of airing this all over an intercom, I walk up to the cash register. I ask what happened and he says, "I'm not sure it must not have been entered. Someone must have messed up " I tell this chap that someone in the kitchen surely remembers my order because we had a discussion about soda. At this point he says, "Oh...I guess that was me." I asked them if they could do it on the fly because we are now into 40 minutes of waiting. He says sure, so I go set back down. Now, at this point there are 4-5 people on staff and THREE TABLES of guests. Around 10 minutes later I get a call on the intercom that are order is ready and we can come to get it. You dropped the ball on an order, and you didn't think, "Oh, maybe I should walk this back because I really screwed up on this one." Nope. Not a chance. I walk up to get my order, and one of the employees says, "Oh, yeah, can you come pay that bill when you're ready?" Um ...ok. I've just done every part of your job for you, can I run this to my table and get my card??? I go get the card and one of the crew tells me the total. $32 I believe. I just look at this kid and say, "Are you going to offer my any discount since you forgot my order, and I have literally done every part of the job that should have been done by a server since I walked in the door?" Literally the only part of a server job these people have to do is put drinks on a train and send them to your table, and they even botched that task. I worked with the POS system that PK uses, and saw on the screen that they had 5 pending orders at that time. Five people can't handle 5 orders? I'm blown away. The kid at the register called someone else and I retell the whole debacle and he gives us 20% off. I tipped on the total. I'm telling ya, it will be a long time...
Read moreI love Pizza King, especially the newer rewards program! However, the customer service on my 12/13/22 visit left MUCH to be desired. I ordered carryout in person at 4:44 PM (according to my receipt). I was told it would be five minutes (potato skins) and I sat on the bench in the waiting area for my order. The restaurant was not busy at the time; even the employee that took my order mentioned that the rush hadn't hit yet. Also, there were an ample number of employees working at that time, which is a rarity these days in a restaurant.
One half hour later (yes, it was 5:15 PM by my phone), I got up to see why my order was not ready. Three employees scurried around to find it, and found it sitting on a shelf. I was under the impression that the employee "announces" that the carryout order is ready, one time, and then puts it on the shelf. Not this visit. The female employee even told me that they don't call out order names when they are ready, which I found very hard to believe given my experience with the other Pizza King location in town. If I hadn't renewed my rewards, I would have asked for a refund. I will probably eat here again, but I sure won't be in a...
Read moreCame in at 7:05pm December 19th 2021 They cleaned a table for us to sit down. About 10 minutes pass while we look at the menu. So when I go to order they tell me the dining room closed at 7pm due to short staff. Let s just say this if I felt like swearing would help I do have some very choice words to say. Needless to say my money will never go to another Pizza King in Laffayette Indiana again. I find it interesting how in your reply you describe nothing like the events that occurred. When I came into the restaurant the normal area with tables and chairs was closed. The booths along side the train tracks were where we were told to sit and call our order in since we were eating inside. All were dirty so I went to the front and informed the person there and she went and cleaned a table for us. 10 minutes or so pass and that is when I pressed the speaker button to order. Never was I asked to sit somewhere else. Your staff is either not telling the truth or they have my group of 4 adults 2 grandbabies and another child confused with another...
