01/17/24- Señor Tacos didn't sound Mexican to me. My wife had been wanting to take me because I'm picky about the Mexican restaurants here.
I'm glad I went. You walk in and you can seat yourself at any clean table. It says so when you walk in.
My wife loves Horchata and that's the first thing she ordered. I asked about the special's but they have the same price and menu all day.
They bring chips and salsa while you wait. The salsa isn't hot, so you can enjoy the wait. It's homemade and a knock off or store bought.
Our server was Nancy. She was great. She made recommendations on the different combos and explained what I get with the different combos.
The menu has lots to choose from. I like the Molcajete because it has a little bit of everything. I love cactus and grilled jalapeños. I like shrimp, chicken, carnitas, asada and chorizo.
My wife got the chicken fajitas. You can share them as they give you plenty. They're not stingy with the chicken, so you're not stuck with bell peppers 😁
They bring out two different salsas to go with the meal. One was green and the other tasted like habanero. Use a chip to try them. I think the spice is perfect for the heat but still enjoy the food.
Nancy checked on us and we were never out of drink. She is pleasant and has been there for years. Thanks to the service and delicious food I told my wife I think this...
Read moreWorse customer service I've ever received. Had a doordash...walked up to register at bar. Not one employee acknowledged me or greeted me. They were kinda busy so I was trying to be understanding and waited patiently, still to be ignored. After about 5 minutes I noticed one employee who appeared to be a manager so asked her about the order to be told it wasn't ready. So stood to side and waited longer. I asked cashier to please check on order for me after waiting about another 10 minutes. Was told one second for her to proceed to talk to a guy at bar. She never checked on the order and continued to ignore me...rude! So asked another lady and finally got the order that was supposed to be delivered about the time I received it. I use to be a cashier, server, all that so I get that places get busy but still acknowledge your customers and greet them, ask may I help you or something. I will not recommend this place to anyone
Update: to reply to comment....yes it happened today, right before I posted this and from reading a few other reviews seems others have gotten ignored too. Teach your employees customer hospitality...to greet customers at least. If they are busy, say I'll be right with you. Not just look at you like you're stupid and ignore you but talk to the guys at bar. Js....bad customer service can ruin a business no matter how good the...
Read moreTLDR = The food is okay. In my opinion there are better places for "Authentic Mexican" food in town. Their "Aguas Frescas" are really good, the Piña Colada and the cucumber kiwi were delicious.
I ordered Tacos Al Pastor, that usually give me an idea on what the order dishes will be like since in my opinion Tacos Al Pastor are not easy to make. The Tacos were okay, it needed a little more flavor. It did not taste to what traditionally would be Al Pastor.
Chicharrón Tacos were okay. Well cooked but again, the flavor. Our server said it was a combination of their red and green sauce, I don't think that worked out. Confusing flavor that I think ended up cancelling each other out. They should have probably stuck to the green sauce and worked with that.
Senor Taco Fajitas, it was good but nothing special.
They had Choriqueso under the appetizers, I thought it would be more like a Queso Funido, melted cheese with chorizo, it was mostly queso dip with chorizo. It was okay, if you like queso dip you'll probably like it. I'm just not a huge fan.
My friend ordered the Molcajete, the issue we had with that dish is that they gave it to him cold when it's a hot dish. We told our server, she was nice about it and took it away and brought back another one. This time the food was hot and I'm glad they were cool about the situation.
Like I said,...
