El Potrero Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lake City

First off, we did like the food and they were good portions. That said, we probably had the worst service I've ever had. From reading other reviews it seems that maybe we just drew the short straw this time but when we walked in there was one table and another walking in at the same time as us, and after we were seated and waiting for drinks the resturant filled up. We watched everyone else order, get their food and leave. We got there as the very beginning of the dinner rush and were there for 2 hours. We were a party of 4 and watched 2 different 6 tops order eat and leave while we still waited on our food to come. We ordered an appetizer that didn't come out until the rest of the food. After waiting for over an hour half of our food half the table got their food with about a 5 minute gap between the other two orders arriving, we also only got 2 sets of silverware so then waited for those too. I had to take our bill up because we were up charged for items we didn't even receive and when I complained at the counter, they apologized but did not offer really anything to compensate. We went here on the 4th of July, I understand how busy it gets on the 4th in Lake City, BUT there were only 4 other tables dining at the time and maybe 3 at the window, our waitress had my family and another couple, we sat there waiting for menus for at least 10 minutes, got them, asked for 4 waters waited another 5-10 min she came back (without the waters) said she was sorry, left again, came back with the yummy chips and salsa, my husband asked about the water, she finally got them, left yet again 10-15 minutes later finally took our order (All we got were corn tacos) She didn't come back to our table after serving the tacos, the tacos were great! There was one table when we arrived, yet the floor was dirty. It would have taken a second to at least pick up the straw.

There is a large selection of entrees. The vegetarian options are sparse. The rice is prepared with chicken broth and almost everything has cheese or a cream sauce. Vegans should try another restaurant. Herraduras in Cadillac is very accommodating.

Our entrees lacked any vegetables, not even a little lettuce. The ground beef had a lot of flavor, but it really needed some color and contrast in textures
