Fiesta Jalisco Inc — Restaurant in Lake City

I wanted to love this place. I was SO disappointed. We were celebrating my mom’s 60th birthday and were treated like we didn’t matter. We ordered the fresh guacamole because it said they make it at your table, that didn’t happen. Our waitress was extremely unfriendly with no smile and absolutely no personality. I ordered a second margarita and to my surprise was told I had to wait because they were OUT OF GLASSES. At this point, working in customer service my whole life, my patience was running thin. I thought at least I’ll get some good food soon. NOPE! My fish tacos were ROCK HARD and inedible. I told the waitress when she finally came back to the table. My parents were finished eating and I still had all of my meal because it was SO BAD. The waitress argued with me about a not being charged for my meal. I thought there would be no question and it was the least they could do, but again I was wrong. I had to raise my voice at her to get her to agree to take it off the bill. With such mixed reviews I was weary to try them, but I really wanted some Mexican food. I was not disappointed in any way! It was a week night and the restaurant was a little over half full. We were seated immediately, followed shortly by chips, salsa, and water. The salsa is a chunky salsa (not watery) and the chips were good. My margarita was perfect! Tasted like it was freshly made with real lemon, lime, and good tequila. Our food came out quickly and all of it was delicious! I had a chicken chimichanga, my picky eater daughter had two chicken enchiladas (and ate both of them, plus half a basket of chips scooping up the refried beans!), my son had the Jalisco Burrito (and couldn't finish it! It was too big and he eats big meals). Our drinks including our waters were never empty for long, the staff was very attentive without being overbearing. And to make it even better everything was reasonably priced! We will be back for more...

The overall time there wasn’t great. The server at the onset had an air of over-worked indifference. Also, she spoke in a hushed tone, which was drowned out by the Spanish music. She never checked on how the food was tasting. The food was mediocre at best: the chicken was too tough, extra runny sauce, not much flavor to any of it, and oddly portioned throughout. To her credit, she did stop to refill the water once. There were large gaps of time waiting for drinks, waiting to order, waiting for the food, and ultimately, waiting for the check. It was difficult to enjoy the experience when the server is checked out the entire time, which was odd, because there were only three other tables occupied. Not entirely sure what was going on.
