Rosati's Pizza — Restaurant in Lake Forest

Rosati has great, traditional Chicago thin crust. Both Lake Forest and Bannockburn locations have done an excellent job, but the location at Bannokburn is more consistent in quality. Their pasta dishes and wings are good, too. Ask about coupons and specials, which always seem available.

This is thin crust pizza cut into square slices (you can ask for "pie cut" if you prefer that). It's not super thin like NY style, and certainly not micro-thin like a Neopolitan or wood-oven cooked artinesal styel, rather a good thickness traditional in Chicago area. To.ato sauce has a pleasant sweetness, sauge topping is really good, as is the peperoni.

I only ever get the thin crust at Rosatis. Lou Malnotis is the go to place for Chicago deep dish (or Geno's East, I suppose), while Ferentino's has a good "focascia" bread type thickness which is somewhere in between and quite good in its own style.

So much for 45 minute deliveries from Rosatis in Lake Forest. I ordered 2 pizzas and 2 bottles of Pepsi at 5:12pm. After waiting 1.5 hours and no sign of the delivery driver, I called Rosatis. A woman answered the phone and told me that they only had 1 driver and my food would be there shortly. 20 minutes later the driver arrives. He apologized for the delay, and stated that he had 4 deliveries and my food is still warm (not hot like a freshly made pizza should be). He also arrived with only 1 Pepsi, and said he’d be back (this way the next set of orders can be delayed further). It’s apparent from my experience and others that I’ve read that ownership and management have no idea what customer service is. Definitely the last time I order...

UPDATED REVIEW The review was strictly towards the customer service in the front counter and I do not want to cause any confusion about that. The food here is really good and the cook is such a great, nice person. He is the main reason why despite previous experience, I’m still more than happy to come back.

I ordered and paid for a 12 piece and they gave me 5 wings. Once I got home I realized and had to drive 20 minutes to come back for the correct order. No one apologized or cared, they even told me to make sure I bring the 5 wings back so they can give me the correct order.
