I received very poor and offensive customer service at this location. I paid for my boba using an older $10 bill (1974 series). As my friend and I were waiting for our drinks, an employee came to the counter, slid the $10 bill across, and simply said "This is a fake bill," seemingly angry. She did not say, "can you pay in another way?" or "I'm sorry, but there seems to be something wrong with this bill," etc. No explanation; I was left to feel that my order was rejected.
In fact, the the bill is quite certainly NOT fake; it is only the older style of currency. I walked to the cash register and tried to explain. I offered to pay with other cash, and asked why she thought the original payment was a fake bill, or by what test she had come to that conclusion. She would not answer any of my questions, only looked at me and acted angry for asking (or for trying to "trick" her?). Frankly, I was confused and offended by the whole exchange.
This was poor and offensive customer service. The employee publicly (in front of other customers) implied that I was trying to give her false currency, when I simply paid with an older bill (which was in good shape and is perfectly acceptable legal tender). She would engage in no conversation and would answer none of my questions, which were offered politely. If I had not been there with a friend, I would have simply withdrawn my business and gone elsewhere.
There are plenty of other boba places in the Mission Viejo/Lake Forest area which do not treat their customers so disrespectfully. I will not return to Sharetea, and I will advise my friends to do likewise.
*I took some friends to the Jamba Juice on Portola a few days later and used the bill that the Sharetea employee called "fake". Jamba Juice had no problems with my money, and the two women making our smoothies were very friendly and helpful. Excellent customer...
Read morePlaced order online, arrived in 10 minutes later to see if its ready. I saw our ticket at the front of the queue.
Thought ours will be ready soon, NOPE!
They would place a tea in front of our ticket, but the moment someone ordered in store (even though they came in after us by a long margin) they would take the tea from our ticket and hand it out.
Our ticket was at the front of the queue for 30 minutes, after we arrived!
They kept bumping our order over and over, despite us asking how soon is this going to be ready.
Then they admitted that they prioritize in store orders, there were at least 10+ orders that they processed before ours despite those orders coming in after ours, we were literally standing there, and they would just give ours out again and again.
We already paid, tipped and are present in store - why are we getting second...
Read moreSmall tea bar nestled in a small part of the shopping area nearby. A few tables surrounded the tea bar and it's kind of unclear where you order. The order line starts at the back which makes it ridiculously crowded and awkward when there's an actual line bc once you're done ordering, you're having to squeeze through everyone else in line just to get out. They should have the line start by the entrance instead of the back which would make it easier for entering and exiting. The drinks we got were pretty good in flavor but damn, the sugar in them were pretty high. I felt like the drinks could have been better without so much sugar. Overall, okay. I'd take my daughter here to try it out but probably wouldn't go out of my way to...
