Taqueria Las Alondras — Restaurant in Lake Forest

It’s definitely hard to rate this place. The service is like going to a family members house in Mexico. Chill, authentic and welcoming beyond believe. The owner seems to remember your name, hand shakes you and thanks you. Very rare experience. I’d recommend take out, the seating is humble and small. The food, what is the most important, definitely did not wow me as I hoped it would. I ordered a burrito which was ok.. the pupusa was cheese and black beans? I’m not sure, only drenched in green salsa was it digestible. Maybe I should have picked a different one. The people who came, kept saying how delicious the food is, so maybe try something different...

I was so disappointed with the food and the restaurant. Bland and mediocre. The place looks depressing with ugly energy saving white lights, no music and dirty tables. It looks like the owners have no interest in making the food taste good and having the place look confortable. I don't understand how people like this dare to have a restaurant. I gave them an opportunity to impress me and I walked out regretting the $19 dollar bill I paid...

Really liked how they prepare the burritos here. The carne asada was finely chopped as well as cilantro and onions and mixed into refried beans, making the flavor well mixed together and very soft and easy to eat. This is really different from a chipotle burrito where you bite into big chunks of stuff that is not mixed...
