I live in the area and have been to Claw's many times. This is good old-fashioned fast food for those who do not care for contemporary"fast food" franchises. You order off a giant menu that covers a good portion of the wall. You pay for your food and are given a number. When your number is called, you pick up your food at a window. It is all neatly wrapped on a tray. There is a condiment counter and self serve soda machine. They are very good in their area of specialty, drive-in/walk-up lunch counter type foods - a giant menu of dogs, burgers, beef, bbq, specialty sandwiches, gyros, fries, onion rings, subs, malts, shakes, etc., etc.. They keep the place clean and attractive. A word of warning. I have found that Claw's huge menu sometimes takes them out of their area of competence. Two examples. Example one, they offer breakfast entrees. We decided on breakfast one morning and it was a disaster - bad food, over cooked, over priced. Example two: my spouse wanted salad and gave it try. It was like it was put together by a monkey. Wrong ingredients, wrong portions, badly mixed. If you stick to their specialties, Claw's is a great place to enjoy a traditional drive-in type meal, and it is light-years better than local fast...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Iām actually shocked that this place has been in business for as long as it has. I ordered a big beef with sweet peppers and a Reuben sandwich. We also ordered a side of onion rings. The big beef was not a big beef. It was actually smaller than most restaurants regular size beefs. They neglected to put the sweet peppers on it which I assume I paid more to have them added. The beef had no flavor and was as dry as a bone. You actually have to drink water or some kind of beverage to wash it down. I donāt even think you could call the Reuben sandwich a sandwich. The meat was practically nonexistent, and Iām not sure if it even had cheese on it. It was also extremely greasy and wet. I will say that the onion rings were phenomenal. I donāt understand how the onion rings could be so good and crisp. Lol. Iāll say it again. I am shocked that this restaurant is still in business. Did I say my bill was close to $40? Ridiculous.!!! I was so hungry that I ate everything. However, Iām not worried Iām going to get sick. A company that takes this little care in preparing food may take the same type of care for their sanitation practices. Obviously, I donāt know this and this is just an opinion, but I am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've tried here a few times as it's near a family home. We really wanted to like it but I think we're done. It's just not worth it.
We've gotten mushy buns with hot dogs, poorly made beefs with cheese, forgotten items in our orders, overcooked food, and just mediocre things in each order.
The pricing isn't horrible but we've definitely been to less costly places with better food.
The service is okay but we've been rushed before, have definitely had the "blah"/young lady replies, etc. the majority of the time.
We've also been through the drive thru a time or two where the shops next door have had people on break smoking out back; this isn't the fault of Claw's, but it's still annoying and brings the location quality down a few pegs. Otherwise, location is great if you live in this area as it's right by the Piggly Wiggly, near to other things, etc.
I'm happy that other people have had good experiences (there seem to be a plethora of positive reviews) as I love supporting small/local business when we can, but unfortunately Claw's didn't...
