EDIT: We did give the Irish Tavern in the Village of Lake Orion another chance and we are so GLAD that we did. We stopped in after the Memorial Day parade - the food was fantastic - I had the Cobb salad - the best I've had in years. My husband had the Beach Burger - excellent and he raved about the fries. I big kuddos to the bartender today - the Old Fashion was superior. I had the Fried chicken mashed potato meal - The chicken was very good. I felt like the mashed potatoes were instant mashed potatoes. My husband had the Irish stew which was vastly disappointing - It came in a big bowl, but the amount of stew in the bowl could’ve filled a cereal bowl. It was not dark and hearty and stew like - It was pale and watery. We decided to have the bread pudding for dessert and waited more than 15 minutes for our dessert to be served. I finally went up to the bar and told them to cancel the dessert order and give us our bill. She did take the dessert order off of our bill and she wrote a note that supposedly would go to the manager- It was taken off because it took too long to get the Pudding. This was our first time trying this restaurant and we will not...

I've heard nothing but bad things about Irish Taverna from friends but we wanted to give this one a fair shake and I'm glad we did.

We came for brunch on a Sunday morning and we were the only customers.
We had the breakfast shots that is served with Tullamore Dew. Those were good.
We had the Chicken and bread pudding and the French toast special. Both were good, really solid but nothing over the top except the chicken, that is some of the best dredge / breading I've ever had. I don't think bread pudding should have raisins but it's not a big deal.
Overall I think they were good and I would like to come back and see if they know how to pour a pint of Guinness correctly. Also wings. I hear they...
Read moreI SO wanted to like this place. I had browsed the menu prior to going. Their list of creative burgers had me excited to get there. Granted, the burger toppings were good (even though the crispy onions were cold) they forgot that the most important part of a burger is the actual burger. Their patties are small, flat, hard, and overcooked. You can upgrade to a half pound burger. Unfortunately, that just means that you get two small, flat, hard, and overcooked patties instead of one. If they just put those same toppings on a real beef patty, they would have a banger of a burger. Unfortunately, they don't. For that reason, we most likely...
