Last night was my first time trying Rio on Main. We had a larger group as this was a work dinner and we had Shawn as our server. He was very friendly and provided great service. I ordered a steak fajita quesadilla which the flavor was excellent, however the bottom side of the quesadilla was completely soggy. It would have been perfect if both sides were nice and crispy. However, while eating my second piece I bit into something HARD, something those back molars were not able to break through. It was a piece of something shiny and black. I let the server know (which he took the thing I bit into to show management) and then went to use the restroom, while walking back I saw him talking to the manager (or managers, two women) and I stopped because I figured they’d want to talk to me about it. They both tried telling me that it was a “burnt chip” I had the chips, the thickness of whatever I bit into would have been the thickness of maybe 2-3 chips stacked and it was SHINY .. there is no way it was a burnt chip, it was definitely a piece of broken black plastic from something. I wasn’t trying to get anything out of letting them know, I had already paid for my meal and tipped .. but I felt very frustrated that the incident was brushed off like it wasn’t a big deal. I bit into that piece so hard it hurt my teeth, a burnt chip probably would have crushed .. this was not a burnt chip. I would have just at least received an apology from the management but instead they brushed me off like it was nothing. I don’t think I’ll be back. Again loved the atmosphere, you can tell this is a popular restaurant due to how busy they were .. but the experience from management was enough for me to say...
Read moreFood is delicious, with good portions. Has to be the best mexican food I've ever had. Prices are also very reasonable. The chips are warm and are very good. The salsa is fresh and is very tasty. I was in Texas recently, and the food at Rio was better than I had in Texas. Like others have mentioned, my friends and I also ended up at Rio because the wait at Sagebrush was over 90 minutes. It was about 30 minutes at Rio. I have never been to Sagebrush, but my friends have, and they wanted me try it because it's supposedly very good. After eating at Rio, I don't see how the food can be any better. Rio was very busy, because it was Saturday evening, but the service was good, and the server patiently answered our questions, which was hard for her with that ridiculous, unnecessary mask she was required to wear. Food came out quickly, and the server brought as much chips and salsa as we wanted. Last but certainly not least, I had the 20 Oz raspberry Margarita on the rocks and it was, by far, the absolute best Margarita I have ever had. It was perfect. I have been drinking them for a lot of years, and I order Margaritas everywhere. I will definitely be going back to Rio, even though I live about an hour away. This is my new go-to for mexican food and Margaritas, so I'm just going to have to plan it like a trip!!!! I'm not really sure I will even attempt to go to Sagebrush, as I don't...
Read moreI liked this restaurant until tonight. We were told we would have a 15 to 20 minute wait. We hadn't been seated still and were at 25 minutes and hear the girl at the front telling people 10 to 15 and also overhear a girl all in black we found out is the manager telling the girl at the front they aren't seating people until the kitchen catches up. Which is NOT what they are communicating to the people piling up at the door. So I went to find the manager and ask her myself (we've been waiting almost 30 minutes now) she confirmed they are not seating g people until the kitchen catches up. I return to the girl at the front and find out there are still 3 families in front of us. Absolutely no way we'd be eating within the hour. On top of that the manager was incredibly rude and acted like I was being unreasonable asking why they were providing people completely inaccurate wait times seemingly intentionally. Icing on the cake? I went to use the rest room while waiting and steo into the middle stall and my foot goes through a hole in the floor of an unsecured drain. Which has scratches all around it from how many times it has slipped out of place. No screws securing it and a 6 inch pipe underneath. Maybe this will be fixed aftersomeone twists an ankle? Good luck trying to tell the manager about it she'll rip your head off. After a year of great experiences here we will not...
