Alley Cats is a bar and restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip at the Lake of the Ozarks. It was recommended by friends. It was a disappointment-except for the salads. We stopped in for lunch and ordered two Bloody Mary's. They were the worst Bloody Mary's we have ever had. They were practically clear as if they were mostly water. Virtually flavorless. My friend could not even drink hers. We had heard raves about the pizza from a number of people, so we ordered a pie. Although the pizza looked good when it arrived, it failed to deliver. Lack of flavor was the problem. It tasted okay, but was very bland. Really bland. We each also ordered a salad with their house dressing. The salads were, by far, the high point of the meal. They looked good, were crisp and full of flavor. Thumbs up on the salads! Alley Cats has a great location. It's a cozy spot with indoor and outdoor seating. But the pizza, during our visit, was just okay.

Alley Cat's claims to be a pizzeria, but it is in fact a sports bar. We ordered a margarita pizza, a bacon-chicken-ranch pizza, and a cheese pizza. The red sauce is thin to the point of being soupy, and the crusts are cracker-thin. I actually like thin crust, so that was fine, but the sauce was just bland, while the toppings on the chicken and cheese pizzas were too salty, with little other seasoning. We were there with our 9 year-old, and if we'd realized it was a sports bar, we would have chosen someplace else. The service was fine, but distracted. We went for lunch, so it was quiet, but I get the feeling if you want a place to shout at big TVs on game night, this is the place. If you want pizza, however, go on Tuesday when it's half price, or pick someplace that actually specializes in pizza.

Great pizza and nice servers. We went for half off pizza Tuesday right before the 4th. I did not think they would run the special because everywhere was packed with everyone in town for the holiday. They honored the special. They even had a pizza oven go out but the servers told everyone it would be a longer wait. The pizza was delicious and I'd love to go back.
